b) Horse Racing figures are pumped up. They include people working on the day in the attendances: stable staff, vendors,, caterers, Tote workers etc."
'League of Ireland has less crowds than professional interprovincial teams rugby'.

You replied to a different scenario.

Replying To GreenandRed:  "The League of Ireland has been neglected for years. Good to see it's attendances are growing. They should explore the popularity here of Premier League and Champions League teams. Much more soccer players with clubs round the country. And a fair few play playing both and GAA. Thankfully no intercounty Kiwi imports. But plenty of scope for every sport to increase numbers."
Was in the gym last week and got talking to a lad from Canada who plays for Wexford FC. Seemed a nice chap, hoping to make it in soccer this side of the pond.

There are nearly no crowds at the vast majority of race meetings in Ireland. It's the TV money from the online betting companies that keeps most racecourses and race meetings viable.

They dont. That would be like saying for croke park or aviva etc if the staff in bars were included. They're not

136,000 people at the Punchestown festival last week might disagree. . .

But yes - outside the big festivals there are smaller crowds, these meetings would generally have somewhere between 3-5,000 in attendance.

Bigger crowds come out for the bigger races and the festivals - I think that's true for most sports.

Horse racing can by no means be considered a sport anyway.

The wee 3 long for professional rugby representation

Sure an awful lot of people at punchestown wouldn't even see a horse there, it's like most things, just go to be seen there.

You may as well be throwing stones at your jacket Breffni as trying to explain anything to the AKA on this thread.

The basic fact is that in the week where there's a huge amount of gaa championship games happening, the sports media has been dominated by what women are wearing in a completely different sport.

No such thing as bad pr these days and it has completely taken away from the football championship. Which the mandarins in the gaa should ponder when they consider merging with other organisations.

Yeah there's definitely a recent uptick in the amount of obvious multi-username posters. You can only take them at face-value though. Pointless trying to identify them or understand why. Clearly there isn't much going on in their lives. Better that they're doing it relatively harmlessly on here than the loopers who do it on FB or X
