I think it will be tough enough to get the win but if we have a full deck to pick from and we play to our potential then we should advance to the next round. Please note - The game is streamed live on Gaa + at 12.40 pm." Agree with you, we should be going into this game as favorites and its only the road trip that is the concern. Hard luck to the lads, didnt quite click up front. We have one of Wicklow, Leitrim, Sligo or Longford next up, could be home or away. Really poor showing today against Fermanagh. Wides and more wides were a regular occurance. They controlled the game almost totally. We looked like a 4th divison team and Fermanagh looked like a 2nd divison side. The game was a bore fest. We were lethargic and slow in our movements. We were obsessed with lateral passing and getting nowhere when eventually going forward. It will be said that we didn't have Cathal Kehoe, Dylan Furlong and Sean Nolan through injury but it can also be said that Fermanagh were without 3 of their named players before throw in. The bottom line is we are a good league team. It was absolutely great but when it comes to the leinster championship and even the Tailteen Cup we wilt big time. Forget about the Limerick game , they were simply dreadful. Evidence - lost to Laois in Leinster last year by a big score and lost to Louth this year by a big score. Tailteen cup - lost to Fermanagh last year and lost again today. At the end of the day all teams will be judged by their championship results. That's where it really matters. Dont think you can keep a peak going performance wise for more than a month or so. League was the most important thing for us this year, same as last year. A disappointing performance today, some of the shooting in first half was awful. It was plain to be seen that the lads lost their shooting confidence & seemed to be afraid to shoot after those misses. Fermanagh were sharper in attack, their pace was impressive compared to our slow slow build up. Having said that, the crucial decision before half time was baffling, a definite foul ( and probable black card) was ignored and we were penalised by a subsequent 2pointer when one of our mentors let his feelings be known to the referee. Didn't see it as a penalty "live", of course you don't see replays at the match. Standing with friend, didn't see anything wrong either. Saw the replay afterwards, was it foul technically yes - but it was awfully 'soft' and if refeering like that there would be frees every time two players came in contact. I wouldn't have been happy if given against us, and would have felt robbed. Besides (1) in the long run you prospered, we regressed but hopefully on the up now - very young though, but talented, and contrary to some opinon here, I don't see them struggling physically - haven't so far against Sligo, Galway, Down and Carlow despite the youth (2) Who hasn't suffered at bad / soft decisions, Over a decade ago we had the clearest penalty I ever saw not given in the closing mins of a championship match vs Sligo to take the lead - it wasn't even close, I'm still not fully over it!!!
