Yes. Think its touch and go for the club even. Was down there Friday evening watching our u10s and a couple lads told me that. Looked terrible when he went down tbh. Was a shocking pitch.

Would be great if so to get a good crowd in. My only worry is would Leinster council allow a double header they might have to split the pot with gate receipts?
Cant remember the last championship big double header we had maybe Westmeath in the football and Kilkenny in the hurling in 2011?
We did have a double header around 2019 I think hurlers had Carlow and footballers against Derry but I would be hoping we would see a much bigger crowd if this double header was to happen.

whats the point? most of the hurling crown would not come in for the football if it was on first or leave after hurling match if it was on first, we all seen it happen over the years

There was double header in Croker a few years back, maybe 2018, 2 poor games where hurlers lost to Dublin and footballers to Kildare.

I'm inclined to agree with you there, we've seen it happen several times.

Realistically, that's what would be bound to happen. If football was first, maybe 90% of the crowd wouldn't be in until at least midway through second half. If football was second, almost as many would would be gone before it even started.

It's a terrible situation, but that's the reality of it.

Well the only thing is they will be paying for a double header so more gate money - there some out there who would want to see both. You never know there may also be some Dubs who would want to see the team that they are playing in Div 2 of the league next year!

Yeah that will happen but why not do it in anyway in spite of that.

I've no idea if its possible but would be great if it was. There's a huge amount of gaa people in rhe county who would jump at fhe chance to support both teams and do whenever possible despite preferring one code over another.

If we can make it easier for supporters to do that both financially and practically whilst getting a bigger crowd in the park we most definitely should.

I really hope it is a double-header, and the schedule would allow it. Hurling fixed for 4pm on Saturday, plenty of scope there to have football at 2 or 6..
But I wonder how would gate receipts work, would Leinster council forfeit their share?

I hope so too would be a great day out but I fear Leinster council would not allow it too. Surely having the football on would at least bring an extra 2 or 3k people and they can come to some sort of agreement

Absolutely agree, but that would require some logical thinking...........sometimes logic and GAA hq don't go together.

The Gaa Would drive you mad at times Yellaman but hopefully sense will prevail and we have a double header to look forward to next Saturday

Possibility of extra time and even penalties in the football means it might have to go even earlier if it was to go first, unless it was allowed to have a 'Plan B' for the start time of the hurling if that happened. But don't think the hurling is listed for GAA+ and it's definitely not listed for TV, so am guessing there'd be a way to work that all right.

As regards gate receipts, I'd say it'd have to be the other way round. A good crowd for a football match is 1,500 and that depends on the opposition bringing a few of them. Realistically, Limerick won't bring many.

On the other hand, Wexford v Dublin in the hurling might have 6,000 or more even despite the result in Kilkenny last weekend. I know it looks a pitiful number when you compare it to Munster attendances but it's still probably four to six times larger than what the football would attract by itself, so it'd be hard to see Leinster Council saying "thanks anyway lads, but we don't want any of the dosh from it".
