Replying To Stmunnsriver:  "we have been the best team in 4 out of our 5 games so far, not many of us saw that coming"
No , you are right stmunnsriver.
Before the league began I wondered if we would win any of our 7 games.
Full credit to management and team.
Even if we don't get promoted and manage to stay up, it would be a good achievement.

i think we just need to stay in div 3, going up would not be good yet, we need another year in 3 , dont think we are good enough for 2 quite yet, without doubt we can be, its in that team to be in the top 12/13 teams but need another year in 3 , having said that we must go for it now, clare is a promotion semi final in a way

Big test away to Clare but in fairness the lads have really stepped up over the last few weeks. Would be great if we could get a result in Ennis and set up a promotion decider v Westmeath

Well can we do it?

Its a big ask to be fair but would set up some final round of the league at home to Westmeath if they could. Being in with a home game play off for promotion would,d be some achievement for the lads.

A big ask indeed for the lads to travel to Clare and bag the 2
points.
Cllare spent a good few years in division 2 and like Down have the experience of playing against teams at a higher level.
It's a game that can be won but we must make sure that we remain tight at the back. Not conceding soft goals and our midfield are not dominated.
Some posters believe that it might be best if we remain in division 3 for another year. Thing is though, if we do there is always the possibility that we may not have the same success as this year and maybe find ourselves back in division 4.
That scenario would be a disaster for Wexford football. If we were to drop back down, it might take us a while to get back up again.
Same as before might happen.
No, let's try our utmost to get promoted.
Verdict -- hesitant vote for Wexford to win by 2 points.

Is the game to be broadcast on the TG4 app? I seen an article earlier in the week on Wexford Weekly saying it was but I don't see this listed anywhere. Unless they got confused with the hurling last week!

According to the TG4 schedule online, they're now showing the Waterford v Tipp hurling match on their app and online at that time.

That's the match that was postponed from last weekend. Am guessing the original plan might have been to show Wexford v Clare in football all right, but then that plan got changed when the hurling match changed.

Great progress showed by this team. Maybe next there'll be a report on how to keep progressing football in the county

Massive win. Wexford were by far the better team and should have won easier. Great performances all over the pitch, Coleman was absolutely outstanding in midfield, one of the best individual performances I've seen in a long time. Really strong squad at this stage and they should have every chance next week, hopefully people show up and give them the support they deserve. Getting to division 2 would be a huge accomplishment. They dug it out today at the end which was great to see
.

Lads you did us a big favour today. All I can say is that from now on anytime I see Wexford strawberries and floury spuds for sale along the road I wil think of ye stop and buy some.
We still have to beat Clare though

Very impressive victory today.
.
half playing with the strong wind the lads really turned it on scoring 1.18 to 0.6 for Clare.
The 2nd half was a different story as Clare dominated for most of the way.
We managed to keep them at arms length and was a nervy finish.
A few mistakes were made in that 2nd half gave Clare a chance to get a win which they wouldn't have deserved.
This team have come a long way in a year and to be in with a realistic chance of promotion to division 2 is brilliant.
Hopefully we get a huge crowd in the park next Sunday and become the 16th man.
The team really need our support.

A brilliant result yesterday and well deserved.
The kicking ( shooting) in the 1st half was spectacular, once the lads found their range and conquered the horrible wind.

A few weeks ago, after the Down game, I wondered if this group were ready for promotion. After yesterday's performance I have no doubts. They are ready. It all comes down to a promotion play off with westmeath now and if the football gods shine on us then I believe that the future is bright for this group of players and management.
Hopefully they get the support they deserve next Sunday.

It was a great performance.

I read last night no team has scored as many 2 pointers across the entire league. Last season I said on here I thought the new rules would really suit how this Wexford team plays and its proven so.

They quietly go about their business and are getting some huge results they deserve as much support as possible from the gaa community in wexford and county board, there's a bright future for football in wexford if the powers that be really want there to be. Here's hoping.

I'd agree 100% with you there, but there's great big "IF" there regarding the powers that be !!

Good man eoinog. Maybe the spuds and strawberries fed to our footballers will give them the strength and stamina to get over the line next Sunday. Best of luck to Sligo against Clare.

Not sure that. Our last 3 County Chairmen have come from clubs that would be either Football only or more Football leaning in my lifetime.
I think its more at club level, and most strongly at general public level, that hurling is by far the more popular sport in the county. The County Board, which is mostly made up of club delegates, has then to make decisions based on the financial reality of that.

I suppose you are right there Viking, my perception of a bias towards hurling is probably ingrained from years ago.
Of course decisions are based on the financial reality. With that in mind, I would suggest that ( nationally) our footballers are a small fish in a big pond whereas our hurlers are a medium sized fish in a much smaller pond.
