Ballygunner added the U20 to minor and senior titles. A couple of Hartleys, Patrick Fitzgerald still under age and a host of other recognizable names. It's not that they are untried in Waterford as suggested. It is they are so far ahead. Abbeyside had some future stars on this U20 and gave a good account of themselves. In the senior Abbeyside could not afford to be without Montgomery,Prunty and Callaghan. Not deep enough. Gunners will be beaten on an off day. Abbeyside probably the ones closing in. Abbeyside across the bridge from Dungarvan. If together I would fancy them but two proud clubs. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 3193 - 08/12/2024 15:16:21 2582778 Link 0 |
Few Sars defenders sailing close to the wind. HurlingObserver (Down) - Posts: 67 - 15/12/2024 14:05:30 2583609 Link 0 |
Sars dug it out and into final. Free ridden tight game, but I thought Sars deserved the win. Ryanteam (Cork) - Posts: 586 - 15/12/2024 15:02:03 2583615 Link 0 |
Cork clubs contesting all Ireland finals in all 3 grades. Good luck to Russell Rovers, Watergrasshill and Sarsfields in Junior, intermediate and senior grades. Hurling is alive and well in the rebel county! Ryanteam (Cork) - Posts: 586 - 15/12/2024 15:21:56 2583618 Link 0 |

Sars trained heavy in the week. Will be looking to peak against Loughrea in the final. CorkLiamMcCarthy24 (Cork) - Posts: 163 - 15/12/2024 15:41:37 2583620 Link 0 |
Slaughtneil unlucky but definitely got the rough end of a few decisions…. SARS should easily have been at least two men down to red cards…. Same old story, again. exref (Antrim) - Posts: 72 - 15/12/2024 16:22:18 2583625 Link 0 |
Sars creating history this year as the only hurling club to not win a county championship, but to win Munster. It has been done in football by Barrs and Castlehaven but never in hurling. Sars lost to divisional team Imokilly in Cork county final, and should they win all Ireland club championship for first time in history, will be a memorable feat for a club who had representations from legends Teddy McCarthy and ace forward from Cork's 1954 team Paddy Barry ! Loughrea will start as favourites in final. CorkLiamMcCarthy24 (Cork) - Posts: 163 - 15/12/2024 16:27:45 2583631 Link 0 |
A comment like that is very disrespectful to their opponents who more than held their own and but for wastefulness would have won easily… There is no way that Sars trained heavily during the week…

Loughrea havent missed anything in second half. No Wides. Na Fianna missing everything, are brutal. CorkLiamMcCarthy24 (Cork) - Posts: 163 - 15/12/2024 16:39:45 2583635 Link 0 |

Na Fianna will beat Sars in the final. Sars struggled for a lot of the game v the Derry team Slaughtneil today. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 982 - 15/12/2024 17:03:21 2583638 Link 0 |
Two thoroughly enjoyable games again.a point in both games..some great advertisements over the last few months for the club game..yes there were decisions in both games but overall thought refs today did very well..sars could have lost jack o connor for a silly flick to the head..a few challenges in 2nd game that could have led to cards..huge credit to sars after everything that happened them in past 12 months.. I dunno, something seems a bit hollow with super clubs winning and no unbridled joy at the whistle. Players probably know 5% of the supporters. CorkLiamMcCarthy24 (Cork) - Posts: 163 - 15/12/2024 17:14:03 2583640 Link 0 |
Bookies agree with you as Na Fianna are 4/7 and Sars 5/4, but bookies were woefully wrong in predicting Ballygunner 1/14 against Sars. If Na Fianna win, it would be good to see Liam Rushe win an all Ireland of some description, as he's a long time stalwart of Dublin hurling . He made a good transfer in 2021 from Palmerstown to Na Fianna!
