I think you'll find on this matter it's you and others from Louth. Seeing as you flat out refuse to accept anything other than Paddy Keenan was the best player in the 2010 championship going by some comments.

There's no need for a hissy fit. It's not just people from Louth who disagreed with you and I certainly never said that Paddy Keenan was the best player in the 2010 championship. You're the one who said Paddy Keenan's All Star was the biggest token All Star in the history of the All Stars. People rightly called that statement out for the nonsense it was.

I'm sure Aidan Walsh was superior in both codes to the likes of you, and in fact he's still performing well at club level today! Seems ridiculous to be talking about all stars of 2010, but Aidan starred in all Ireland win over Down that year. All Stars are invariably handed out primarily to the all Ireland finalists … or in some cases only to the all Ireland winners…as in 2021,when Cork didn't get a single all star award despite contesting all Ireland hurling final!

I never said you did I said some. As for talking nonsense you're the one so desperately trying to justify your point you keep bringing up him being nominated in 2007 and when asked what that has to do with it you unsurprisingly ignore it. Also saying Bernard Brogan saying he was one of the best players he played with again what does that have to do with it? Players much much better than him never won All-Stars but they didn't have the luxury of the pity vote. Also why is it no one from Louth ever has anything to say about the Dublin game they played after? oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1472 - 03/11/2024 18:43:05 2578184 Link 0 |
louth were bang average v dublin the next day lost by 6 points and went around croke park on a lap of honour! the next year they went out and got bet in first round by carlow and that was the last seen or heard of that Louth team. they were blessed to get an all star in 2010 having won nothing and didnt even go and win their qualifier then to get to a quater final. they were very lucky this year to get one as well, even though that lennon player was excellent all year and hesa super player but there lots of examples of players like that not getting all stars from likes of kerry and dublin and derry this year, dublin and derry should feel most aggrieved not to get 1 between them ahead of louth. lets not forget louth lost to armagh, donegal, cavan and meath in league and finshed 6th. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 761 - 03/11/2024 19:04:25 2578190 Link 0 |
They didn't give an All Star award to Louth. They gave it to Craig Lennon.

Aidan Walsh had a massive performance for Cork in the 2010 all Ireland football final against Down, and justified his all star award. Cork and Down got 4 awards each that year, but Donncha O' Connor and Daniel Goulding who was man of match in the final, were unlucky to miss out!

I'd say with almost certainty he isnt finished yet. I think were talking about different things though.

A Meath man for sure

I was thinking the same but if he was a Meath man, then he would surely remember the team 'that was not heard about again after 2011' hammering Meath in Navan and relegating them in 2012. Unless he is just suffering from Post Traumatic Stress since Iniskeen....

Peter Canavan said that day after Dublin beat Kouth in 2010 that the heart and soul had been ripped out of the Louth team on the day of the Leinster Final and he was right. The nomination for Paddy Keenan in 2007 shows that he was regarded very highly before 2010. Bernard Brogan also holds him in the highest regard as a player. He was an exceptional player and he fully deserved his All Star in 2010. You're just a bluffer with a chip on your shoulder.

I agree RT that Cork deserved more than four in 2010. However, that Limerick FOOTBALL Team consistently challenged CORK and Kerry from 2003, when they beat Cork by ten points in PUC to 2011 when they were somewhat unlucky not to beat both Cork and Kerry IIn 2004 they drew with Kerry and only narrowly lost to them in Killarney. Kerry absolutely blew away every other team they met that yezr. JOHN GALVIN LED THE CHARGE AND NEVER BACKED AN INCH IN THAT DECADE. HE DEFINITELY DESERVED AT LEAST ONE ALL STAR

I never said I was superior to him. But he wasn't a JBM or a Ray Cummins.

You've just proven my point about Louth using it as an excuse after it. Funny someone from Louth saying someone else has a chip on their shoulders about something. What exactly would I have a chip on my shoulder about anything to do with Louth? oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1472 - 04/11/2024 20:31:48 2578406 Link 0 |
