Best team won, Cork didn't deserve to find themselves behind at half time and outscored a great champion team in Limerick 1-17 to 0-13 in the 2nd half. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 230 - 07/07/2024 17:40:58 2557440 Link 0 |

Yes I'll sit back and enjoy the final and I won't be wishing bad on anyone like a certain Galway poster..I'm proud of this limerick team, they have brought unbridled joy to everyone in limerick, days I thought I'd never seen..I'm a happy limerick man..today one of those days and hopefully we,ll get back again..thanks to John and all the players who have given us those great days.. Good call! I think Cork were the better team and fully deserved their victory. Brian Hayes has announced his entry on the big stage, and Barrett again gave Hannon a torrid time. Eoin and Robert Downey were immense! Cork had a perfectly good goal disallowed, as Connolly clearly didn't throw the ball, but kept a nice gap between the teams in second half! Great to stop the drive for five, but we've nothing won yet. Game of the year!!!

Delighted for Cork. It was great to see them play a long ball game and go at Limerick. Not all this hand passing to the middle to the field and then a point from 60 yards. I've said it in previous posts on the Galway hurling thread "boring to watch". Don't get me wrong a great team and great at what they do, it's just boring watch. I think Cork will win the final. Cork had 2 legitimate hand passes deemed as throws. First half goal by Hayes disallowed as Connolly was judged to have thrown the ball. Referee didn't have hindsight of replay, but he was 40 yards away. Could he not consult umpire? Second half Ethan Twomey clearly hand passed, and was adjudged to have thrown the ball. Byrnes scored from resultant free at a crucial time. Referees really have to do better on this. Cork kept a sizeable cushion between themselves and Limerick, which allowed them to get over the line.

This particular poster has been very arrogant about Limerick. No harm to shut him up!

Great final and I wouldn't like to predict a winner. Ryan Taylor has made a difference to Clare, Shane O' Donnell and company will again be a threat, and it will be refreshing to have new champions ! Great final in store!

Cork v Clare will be fantastic but....... I'm saying it now I'm going for a Clare win, this has nothing to do with loyalties or obligations. I just feel in my gut that Clare are "going to do it".
