Not mine! Also numerous team officials, stewards and other voluntary staff, other GAA officials and employees, Gardai, went through the gate beside the turnstiles. Don't they count towards the attendance?

This is rapidly turning into an old chestnut!

Obviously can't explain why your crew were waved through the 'open' gate on Saturday. My lad and his friend who came with us went through a turnstile as normal - just as you've previously said yours did at all other games in the Park so far this year.

Anyway, again - the official attendance count at Wexford Park is everybody who passes through the turnstiles, whether they've an ordinary ticket, some sort of pass, or no ticket at all (i.e. children).

This therefore wouldn't include people like the ones you mention. But that'd be standard enough practice. For example, when you hear there were 82,300 people at an All-Ireland Final, that figure wouldn't include stewards, staff, players, backroom teams, media, etc., either.

Thats a very low attendance for Waterfords first league game at the new Walsh Park.

Think the supporters are being becoming disenfranchised with Davy from what you'd hear anecdotally. Also always think in Waterford, Walsh Park isn't central at all, its a long drive for anyone the far side of Dungarvan, plenty in West Waterford would actually be nearer to Cork City.

I remember once hearing that the Bennetts of Ballysaggart are the same distance to Thurles and closer to Páirc Uí Chaoimh than they are to Walsh Park.

Edit....SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. :)

I was only winding u up Pikeman;-) the kids did get waved through but that's only because we had to be there early and everyone outside was getting drowned as 1 of the scanners was faulty.

Agree with this. Could never understand Waterford CB going back to Davy. He had his go there and it didn't end well. Neither will this.

Big difference compared to 16 thousand at last weeks hurling match v Kilkenny . In counties that have good hurling teams in Munster there's very little interest in football .

I know but come Munster championship they will be playing in front of 20 to 30 thousand so not sure why the fans don't support the league

Was it London v Tipp. Entertaining game played in front of around 600. Decent turnout of Tipp supporters in attendance

You'd fit the attendance from Longford-Waterford at Ballygunner on Saturday, in your front room. Not helped by the fact that it turned into The Amazing Race (GAA edition), so half the crowd might have been at Fraher field or SETU.
