Replying To sligo joe:  "My point stands, up to at least 70mns, Crokes were in control of that game and Glen rode their luck to be in contention. The subsequent controversy seems to have fed a narrative that Glen were the better team on the day which is far from true. If they meet again Glen will need a much better performance to come through."
Be some craic if they did meet in the final again though in all fairness.
Even more craic if Glen won it.

Replying To sligo joe:  "If they're to win the All Ireland they will need to step up a bit from last year. All the furore about being robbed by Kilmacud's 16 has somehow clouded the fact that Glen very much played second fiddle to Crokes in the final and really rode their luck to be only 2 behind in the closing stages."
they will have learned lots from last year and with the added factor of Ciaran Mcfaul back who is a fantastic player i fully expect them to push on plus don't think crokes as good as last year.

Tyrones maiden all Ireland title was won with an extra man after Phillip Jordans horrible dive got Diarmuid Marsden wrongly sent off, with lots of time to go.

A far greater advantage than anything crokes got for having an extra man for a few seconds last year.

And so had Crokes, Glen had a great start but were second best after that.

That comment of mine was said with tongue in cheek. Glen didn't lodge an appeal so end off. As for Philly Jordan, it wasn't the first time a player got away with acting and it definitely won't be the last. Forwards do it all the time. Swings and overabouts.

I would have agreed with you about Crokes until the county final. They look like a team that is aiming to peak for key games. They were almost caught by Raheny who in fairness were immensely superior to anything they have shown in other years, even with the absence of Brian Howard.

The beat Boden very easily, Margin might have been much greater. Were in complete control against what was a decent enough Éire Og side who set up quite well but couldn't score enough. Can't see Crokes being beaten in Leinster whereas Ulster is by no means a certainty for Glen.

Hardly second best since it went to the wire.

Second best. The team that is beaten. the runner-up.... It didn't really go to the wire at all, Had the margin been a point, yes and had it come down to a last chance to equalise, then yes. It didn't.

Sorry but you're incorrect, Glen did lodge an appeal and a replay was ordered by the CCCC, Glen then withdrew their appeal.

Well fair played to Glen for turning it down but if the shoe was on other feet what would have happened ? Other teams might've.

What's fair about it, putting in an appeal and then turning down the replay, wasting everyone's time. Maybe the thought of a replay gave them the jitters, like who wants to lose the same final twice.

It could have been like the 95 All Ireland, just like Dublin Crokes needed it.

Right as you be. You can still win a game in injury time with a goal. They lost by 2pts.

Throwing money around like Chelsea or Man City helped with the purchase of Shane Walsh.

Glen lost but they could hold their heads high by not buying in players.

Just like Dublin in '95, Crokes won it!

Crokes had won it twice before. Just as Dublin had won it 21 time previously. If Dubs spent as much time whinging about stuff from years ago, we'd probably never have won anything :-0

Did Glen not have an attacking opportunity in the final minute?

When Crokes put a 16th man on the field who went in and defended the goal area. .

The Leinster club championship is like the leinster inter county scene, its a cake walk for the dubs unfortunately,
Glen will get a tough battle but nobody will beat them in ulster they have there eye on the biggest prize.
