No Semi Finals/ Finals In Some Underage Competitions.

Replying To Guggy:  "Reading back through this thread from last year.
Some of the issues with no referee's being assigned for U13 matches have not been resolved this year albeit there seems to be more refs available for football than hurling.

From the Meath GAA fixtures website, it seems the semi-final and finals for U13 football competitions have been finally re-instated. This is long overdue as 13 year old's need to be playing for something competitive.
They are getting this at rugby, basketball and soccer.

Not having a semi and final in U13 didn't seem fair or consistent, especially given the age these boys are at and the level of commitment they're putting in. Not having a competitive structure until U15 would have meant these players will have to wait two more years before they experience the same excitement, motivation, and reward that comes with knockout stages or finals.

On that note, does anyone know if there will be semi's and finals for the U13 hurling competition?

No placeholders for it on Meath GAA fixtures website but surely it must be done for hurling also?"
Not sure but just looked. U15 football is meant to start this Wednesday and still no fixtures out. This is a total lack of respect for players mentors and parents. We have already played grading competitions earlier in the year. Why the delay?
