Nominations for the 2023 all stars have been released this morning alongside the footballer of the year and young player of the year . What do we all think ? One notable absentee for me is Aidan O'Shea , who had an absolutely amazing year and was arguably mayos best player . Anyone else unfortunate to miss out ?

Don't think AOS was unlucky. A good year overall but Mayo got knocked out in quarters so very few make the list. Diarmuid O Connor was our best player.

Also amazing Clare got more nominations than Kilkenny even though Kilkenny have beat them 2 years in a row in knockout games.

Unfortunate to miss out would be Ciarán Murtagh.

Roscommon fans think they should have 16 (16, not a typo) every year FFS

Thanks for clarifying you didn't write a typo !! I think it's fair to say C Murtagh should have been in the reckoning for a nomination. Some of the scores he got this season were exceptionally. But from your comment I would say your to spiteful to admit this!!

Clare played in more high profile games. Its not all about results.

It's normally around two All Star nominations a team gets when they don't reach the last four.

Looking at the Mayogaablog to see who they voted for their player of the year.

1st Jordan Flynn 2nd Diarmuid O'Connor and Aidan O'Shea came in 3rd on 23%.

Derry got more nominees (7) than the whole of Connacht combined (6), and Mayo Galway was the NFL final pairing.

Hard to understand. Must have been based more on the round Robins. Certainly at the business end, KK were more effective

They should change the name and call it the 'Munster All-Stars'.
