SEE THE SHELS ARE FAVS WITH PADDY POWER, SURPRISED AT THAT, HARD TO LOOK BEYOND CASTLETOWN FOR ME, THEY HAVE A LOT OF YOUNG PLAYERS WHO WILL GET BETTER

They seem to have started training in earnest early too. Mellows were very disappointing in the hurling this year.

Castletown and Shels defiantly the front runners, Kilanerin will be interesting taught they might challenge well last year but disappointed badly in the QF vs Castletown. Bit like hurling lads missing due to travelling will be a factor.

Intermediate if Martins are on their game hard to see them been stopped, Ferns could be a dark horse for making SF or final.

If Taghmon win Intermediate hurling they will win Intermediate football also. Big IF though as they still haven't really got going this year!

The thing about our football championship is ye start looking at teams that have an advantage, ie those that are out of the hurling early.

Castletown obviously have that now, as do shels, Starlights will come into the mix. In intermediate Ferns like you say could be dark horses for that reason.

Teams getting to the hurling finals will be under pressure, 6 days after winning/losing a County final straight into football, players facing into their 9th week on the trot. Teams who lose finals both relegation and County will find it hard to recover imho. Last year also saw a lot of players not bother with the football taking time for holidays etc and injuries starting to add up.

Judging by last Saturday they could be starting football training next week. Huge improvement needed.

Yes but momentum is a massive thing also. Last year in Intermediate Fethard and Taghmon reached the knockout stages in football and hurling, and Gorey and Ferns reached the knockouts in Senior Hurling and Intermediate football, while Horeswood won the Intermediate football after winning the Intermediate A hurling.

Did Fethard not win Intermediate football after only making Q-Final of Inter hurling?

They'll win neither in my opinion, St Martins the obvious choice for Intermediate Football.

Is there not a full break weekend before the football starts?

Horeswood didnt win Intermediate football, Fethard won it, they got knocked out of Intermediate Hurling at quarter final, hence an advanatage.

Nope! Literally the next weekend after the hurling finals

And if any of the hurling finals goes to a replay then those clubs will have 3/4 days of a break.

Will be interesting to see if all clubs that normally do play football at all this year.

I wouldn't be running down the bookies myself either. Hard to see past Cloughbawn for the hurling. I don't think Martins are as clearcut favourites for the football as Xlouggbawn are for the hurling though.
