Replying To legendzxix:  "Sensible. The McDonagh final however will be on its own in Croke Park. Not ideal either but what can they do?"
If any of the final round of Leinster SHC matches are dead rubbers it would ideal as a curtain raiser perhaps?

Will the McDonagh final go ahead as curtain raiser for the U20 All-Ireland Hurling final?

Might be an idea to put the u20 on a week later in Thurles as a stand alone fixture, based on last night Offaly will bring a massive crowd to it and Cork might be happier going to Thurles rather than Dublin too.

That would make sense. Impressive turn out last night. Final will get big crowd which would be reduced if in Dublin.

Great match by the way. Wexford gave it their all and were in with chance up to last minute or two, but Offaly marginally the better. Only sorry I did not invest in my hunch that they were going to well a few weeks ago. They were big odds to win Leinster never mind the All Ireland.

Fair play to Offaly, they brought players and support last night and ground out a victory.
Leinster hurling is a better place with Offaly in the mix.
Let the progress continue.

Two finals can't be played on same weekend as the 20s captain Charlie Mitchell is also on the senior team.

Actually discussing that rule in another thread. I reckon it's going to have to be changed....either do away with it altogether, or else make it apply equally across the board.

yes but dont forget limerick were beaten by a point last year in the ai final by kilkenny . cathal o neill couldnt play as he was brought on for limerick seniors the previous sunday so either this rule is scrapped or keep to the schedule by the way delighted for offaly

Last year's rule was scrapped. This year it's a non-playing 7-day window between senior and u-20. I think it's 7-days in which a player isn't allowed to play.

Tier 2 counties are given an exemption. Tier 2 counties need any small bit of support they can get. They get very little support as it is.

It should be scrapped. It cannot be claimed to be in interests of the players if the players and their team mates and managers are overwhelmingly opposed to it. What harm is it going to do? These lads are in prime of their lives and ought to be allowed at it.
