New York 0-15 Leitrim 0-15, Gaelic Park, AET (New York win 2-0 on penalties)

Congratulations to New York on an historic result! They will take on Sligo next for a place in the Connacht final and All-Ireland series.
New York will enter the Tailteann Cup at the preliminary quarter-final stage.
Provision of New York reaching the Connacht final
If New York reach the Connacht Final they proceed to the group stages of Sam Maguire. The Tailteann Cup would become 17 teams, with three groups of four teams and one group of five teams. CCCC would confirm the ordering and scheduling of games in the group of five teams, with each team having two home & two away games.
The 3rd place team in each of the four groups would go to the Preliminary Quarter Finals, and play the four 2nd placed teams and the dates of the Preliminary Quarter Finals, Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals would all be put back one week with no change to the final date.

Well done to New York massive result for them. Disaster for us but we've only ourselves to blame. Hope ye put up a good show against Sligo think ye will too.

Great win for NY but an absolute gimmie for Sligo in the Connaught semifinal…. they will do very well to come within 10/12 points of Sligo… The big wigs of the GAA will also be rooting for a Sligo win..

Fantastic scenes there but they were some of the worst penalties I've ever seen.

Hilarious to see Supervalu hoarding in the middle of New York

Fantastic for NY and hard to believe Leitrim didn't even score one of the penalties, they must have been well knackered,
Be some craic if NY beat Sligo and get to the Connacht final, suppose it's hard to see them beating Sligo though but still it's a great day for them.

Great result for NY but from Sligo's perspective it's incredible to think they will secure a place in tier 1 based off beating London and NY.

Brilliant news.
Also, its probably a minority opinion but I love penalty shootouts.

Hardly a surprise, NY have been really close to a win against bigger teams in the recent past and Leitrim have obviously a limited pick. Decent league campaign for Leitrim but Tailteann cup is their priority surely

not really considering Connacht is the best province at the moment.
Sligo would be better than at least 6 Leinster counties for example.

They won't get anywhere near the Tailteann. Too many strong teams. Clare, Westmeath, Offaly, Fermanagh. Even Limerick will be a threat despite their awful league.

Quite a few Leitrim fans seem to be blaming Andy Moran. Look the buck stops at the manger so maybe it is but Leitrim have had narrow escapes before so I don't think all the blame can be landed at management.

One thing I would not agree with is RTE cameras having access to a training session before the game. It's enough of a circus as it is. As James Horan said you treat it as a normal championship game, get in and get out.

About 2500. Might be a few hundred more due to some watching from the hill behind the MC goal.
