I'd say the days of Dublin hammering anyone are long gone. They should on form beat Meath but it will be a stand alone almost.

First time they've played one another in Navan in meaningful game for guts of 30 years I'd say? Be sold out within minutes of tickets going up and if O'Rourke can't get his boys up for the blue jersey on their home pitch he may give it up!

First Dublin v Meath game I've looked forward to in a very long time, and that includes the championship.

A rare visit to the home of the current holders of the centenary cup for you boys.

Please remember to use the bins for all litter and if you're on the stand then mind the steps.

Apologies.....Can't confirm either way......I don't partake in the dark arts myself.

It'll probably be the second centenary before Meath become the holders of any other cup. Perhaps in hurling! Or is the county making little progress with the small ball as well?

Can't wait. Although we have gone backwards this year in a few areas. But if cor is serious about improving Meath fortunes then this is the game to do it in.
Btw not sure if you all know but u16s will need a ticket for this due to capacity issues.

Thanks RD, my lad is 25 now, the younger lad has no interest (I've disowned him :D)
Looking forward to a bit of atmosphere my friend.

Any decent pubs near the ground?

Fitzsimons is only 5 min walk from the ground. €5 for guinness or smithwicks. €5.50 for lagers. Out the back is huge.

Bit of pressure now on Dublin after they ballsed up a result against Derry, hopefully that might make them a bit more ruthless, just not scoring enough goals and then passing up blatant chances when they do come along.

Dubs haven't exactly set Div 2 on fire, could have lost against Cork only for a last ditch wonder save and Clare outplayed them for large parts and then Derry deservedly exposed some bad decisions by senior players when the game was there to be won.

Looking forward to it, you'd imagine Meath under new management and being at home have maybe targeted the Dubs game.

Either way, it's another one to enjoy

The goals came today :)

Solid win, great to beat Meath in Navan by that margin.

They were alright.

Still miles off the levels required to win an ireland which is what every Dublin team will be judged on in future after our recent success.

I never believed Dublin were as far out in front of the pack as the run of dominance would have suggested, but where you could debate that, there's no debating we are now back in among the pack and I feel it'll take something really out of the blue for us to be back on the steps of the hogan in July and don't let today's result fool you.

Honestly that was probably the worst Meath performance against Dublin that I can remember, not that we haven't been beat by more but that Dublin were a shadow of their former selves. We were shocking. And unfortunately we seem to be like the little alpine guy on the price is right when he use to go over the edge. We are in free fall. And where is the bottom? Good luck to Dublin going forward Meath probably now 5th in Leinster. Worrying times for such a football mad county.

Yes it certainly is RD, ye were God awful, we were acceptable.
