World Cup Final Clashes With Club Semi Finals

Replying To Viking66:  "The lad has a good point though BarneyGrant. The crowd will be lost in Croke Park. More would probably have gone if it had been in Dr Cullen Park and there would have been a better atmosphere. Tbh even Semple Stadium or PUC would have been handier for the fans."
Semple Stadium is not available, I thinking they are changing the turf. The game should be played in Wexford Park, Walsh Park or Nowlan Park.

That first Dumloy point won't be matched in Quatar today for skill. First touch... class.

Replying To thelongridge:  "A lot of good points there. It is unfortunate the WC and the hurling semi finals overlap. The decision is made now, and a lot of us will have to do a bit of channel hopping. There is always the option of the RTÉ player. Maybe playing the BS v Ballygunner game in Thurles would be a better venue from a travel consideration
The Dunlop v Thomas's match at a Leinster venue was an option, other than CP. This is just an afterthought. Hope to catch all the action."
Dunloy v St Thomas should've been in Clones or maybe Brewster Park

Wexford Park is closed for fitting the new floodlights. Walsh Park would be between the 2 clubs bit I thought they were doing it up too. Hence suggesting the other grounds.

Hmmmm. Hurling isn't the only game with skill. Messi's dribble for Argentina's third goal v Croatia was a thing of beauty.

Typical back slapping BS. A lot of people, who are heavily involved in the GAA, arrived in the 21st century a long time ago. Don't slip on the ice going to post your letter to Santa.

Replying To CC2020:  "Former Kilkenny hurler from the 2000s decade here.

Absolutely ridiculous having this match clash with the WC final, the biggest sporting event on earth. Unfortunately we still have narrow minded people in the organisation. This type of rubbish won't cut with younger people. It's really early 1900s ban mentality.

People from both clubs would much prefer an earlier start and to be getting home in daylight. Realistically the match shouldn't be in Croke Park at all. It was usually the reserve of All Ireland Club finals. Dragging people from the South east up to Croke Park the Sunday before Christmas is just mind numbingly stupid."
Spot on.

P.s. Dublin man. The local rural Post office has been closed here. You'd never know anything about stuff like. You trying to say your more Irish than me!

If arguing the club semi makes you feel more Irish I pity your insecurity.

Dunloys Molloy just scored the best goal I've seen scored in any sport for many years!

Fair play Dunloy, hurled throughout the match, how St. Thomas's had 15 on the field at the end - amazes me

It was one of the best goals ever seen in Croker in any code. Absolutely superb piece of skill.

You got that wrong. Predicting the future is a fool's game.

On the contrary, the GAA was not founded by "narrow minded people".

I stand over what i wrote. I watched the highlights of the soccer final and while many are raving about it... that first point from Dunloy excells any of the scores taken in the soccer final. For that Dunloy chap to pick out the runner with that cross field pass and for the runner to trap it on his hurl while running at pace and strike it over the bar... very hard to beat that score especially when you think that but was his first touch.
I will say that the Dunloy goal was the score.of the day however. Terrific catch, great run and pass and super finish. Majestic.. and all from the Antrim team, not usually associated wuth the finer skills !
