With league campaigns completed and Championships underway, what are the predictions?

Junior - 3 horse race between Kilclief, Warrenpoint and the surprise packet Castlewellan - excellent championship so far
Intermediate - Carryduff as favorites with Liatroim following closely
Senior - Portaferry must be favorites after successful league campaign.

Hard to see past Portaferry in senior though things can change quickly with an injury or suspension or two.
Carryduff and Liatroim are well ahead of the others in Intermediate and that should be a very good final.
The junior is tight with 3 teams pushing and Ballyvarley not a million miles off it either.

Great to see Ballyvarley improving along with Castlewellan.. Couple of years ago they struggled to field. With all the McCrickards available, Liatriom will put it up to a fancied Carryduff side..

Any stand outs for the 2023 County team?

Big result for Bredagh today turning over Ballygalget. The gap has been narrowing this past couple of years.

Fair play Bredagh. I'm out of touch these days, have we many Bredagh men fit for the county?

Semis PFerry home to BGalget & BCran home to Bredagh. No relegation as far as I know.

Intermediate is on 8th October Liatroim v Carryduff. A long wait but both clubs have football committments between now and then.

JHC Final Warrenpoint v Castlewellan Point moving well and full value for their win. Any reports on the other game?

Castlewellan played well and deserved the win… much improved performance by both teams.. Final will be hard to call looks like the point are finding there form .. big weekend for the minors and u13 haven't been at many underage games this year but interesting to see only 1 ards team in the a finals

Both underage finals went true to form Castlewellan big favourites won u13 handy while Bredagh were tipped for minor and came through by 8 or 9. Ballygalget relying on younger players to fill in makes it difficult but fair play to them.

U15 final on Sunday in Dromara. Castlewellan v Carryduff. A novel pairing to say the least. Carryduff will be strong favourites after beating a fancied Ballygalget but the Town beat Portaferry over there an thats never easy.
SHC semi finals should see handy wins for Ports and Crans but you never know.

Senior games look straight forward on paper but could well be tight enough. Galgets will throw everything at it. Carryduff favourite for the u15s but Castlewellan have been improving steadily. Question is have they improved enough? Great to see the Hurling development in both these clubs.

What a joke senior hurling final is in newry and even worse at 4 pm should be in ballygalget less distance for teams supporters to travel going to cost a fortune for some people for boat tickets fuel supporters and teams won't be back until at least 8 pm boat and no chance of getting it last year I sat in Strangford for ages in queue as both sets off supporters will be heading for boat 10 minutes from ballygalget and your home or out in club celebrating clubs need to get this moved to ballygalget lots of people won't bother travelling over

Hard to call. Portaferry had a good league against Antrim teams who weren't too worried and truth be told Ballycran are in that bracket too. Championship is where it's at and Crans will be raring. Have a feeling PFerry may just shade it though.

It's going to be a close game Portaferry should win if Tom and daithi are on form they'll be hard to stop if Portaferry take there frees this year and cut out giving frees away we should be fine but like last year it's all on the day. What do you think of the match being in newry at that time off day it's a joke should be in ballygalget

Agree - Even Downpatrick for the rest of the county to see it. In Antrim though North/Glens teams had to go to Casement for years. Interesting to know what the players think?

That's very true about Antrim teams going to Belfast. Far better atmosphere in ballygalget everyone packed round the pitch last year was no atmosphere everyone was spread out around a big stadium even a Saturday afternoon would suit better in newry Saturday final worked well 2 years ago
