How many games do you have to play in the group?" There were two groups A and B randomly drawn. Teams from group A were randomly drawn to play against teams from group B - 4 matches in total in the "league" part. After 4 matches for each team the results are collated to form the 16 team league you mention. Top 8 go to quarter finals (1st v 8th, 2nd v 7th etc). Bottom 4 teams are in the relegation playoffs. Win your game and you're safe at senior for another year. Lose your game and you play a relegation playoff final against the other team that lost. Now that we're down to the knockout stages in the various championships does anyone know what the criteria is in terms of games finishing level after normal time? OK, so for the purpose of our wee prediction competition we'll do the scoring as below. It always gets a wee bit trickier when ya move from league structure to knockout championship with these things. I'll do it like the bookies do and restrict the scoring to normal time only. - call the winner (normal time) = 1 point - call the draw (normal time) = 3 points - exact winning margin (normal time) = 5 points So say this weekend, you picked Buncrana to beat Naomh Columba then they must do so in normal time. If you think it'll be extra time then just predict a draw. If Buncrana end up winning by 4 points but they need extra time to do it and you've predicted Buncrana to win by 4 then you'd get 0 points....because the result at end of normal time was actually a draw.
