David Clifford and Shane Walsh, two magnificent talents. But which of them was your Man of the Match last Sunday?

There's a topic, 'Galway V Kerry All Ireland Final 2022' just under this. Couldn't you have put this question in there, where it belongs, instead of cluttering up the board with needless new topics?

Clifford. Stone cold.

Walsh had a free to pull Galway back into it but missed. That's the difference. Two great players though all the same and I'm not sure if there is a need to compare.

Clifford is turning into the greatest forward we've ever seen and was very good on Sunday.

Walsh was the best player on view in the final for me though.

He scored more and scored more difficult scores than Clifford.

Both were great. I hope we see plenty more clashes of these guys in the near future. Galway Abu.

I would have given it to Shane Walsh as he carried Galway on his own in the forward line…but as you well know the MOM rarely if ever comes from the beaten team…. Clifford was wonderful too but he had much better support around him….. 2 outstanding talents….but I'd say Clifford would be a lot more consistent….

Walsh's performance would have merited it any other year... and to some extent I think his overall performance was marginally better than Clifford's . But Clifford was tremendous too and the gap between them ( if any ) was too small to justify giving it to a member of the defeated side,

If you're from Kerry you'll say Clifford and vice versa if you're from Galway, and if you think that comparisons are odious you won't bother answering!

Based solely on the AI Final Walsh

Shane Walsh for me. There was not much in it as both players were fantastic and hit some tremendous scores. However I think that in addition to carrying his attack, Shane Walsh also took his defensive duties more seriously. On several occasions the Galway full back came out the field with the ball and was not tracked by Clifford. I felt that Galway could have exploited this a little more.
Therefore I think that Shane Walsh deserved it based on his overall performance. Hopefully he will get his All-Star this year.

There is an unwritten criteria the man of the match has to be from the winning team. Two great performances and it was close, but for me Walsh was best player on the pitch. However most likely due to media programming that evening he couldn't win it, so Clifford was obviously out in front.

Good question no matter about the Londoner, nothing to separate them but Clifford just because without him Kerry were beat but with Walsh Galway didn't win.

'That's the difference'

What absolute spoofer criteria for judging who played the better game last weekend.

Clifford without any doubt. He was the difference between the two teams and kept Kerry in it during Galway's periods of dominance in the first half. Walsh unable to exert the same influence when the tide was similarly going against Galway in the second half

What is sport but essentially one great big comparison?

Lads can we not just accept the absolute brilliance of both on Sunday? Why is there always a need to compare? I have watched some desperate games in my time and given out enough about players.

I don't think I have ever enjoyed a game as much as I did on Sunday and these two men were a big part of the reason why. I feel blessed to be able to watch them and look forward to (hopefully) more of the same.

I am just sorry I wasn't there in person to witness it.
