It was a joke I agree with you. Have a good Friday.

Clubs have got word of a county board meeting for tomorrow night (Tuesday) to form a sub-committee to appoint a new manager. So there have been no "official" approaches to anybody yet anyway, whatever about somebody maybe making a phone call or two to see if certain people might be interested.

They published an ad looking for applicants last week on Wexfordgaa.ie

Yes, I'm aware of that, and I believe that a subcommittee was to be formed to handle the applications.
I just wondered if anyone here had any further information, sometimes a (likely) candidate or two emerges from the pack.

Would be great if whoever was appointed was appointed before the football club championships begin.

Just curious here, coming from a relatively big county with big ambitions (some years unjustifiably so) what constitutes a successful year for a county like Wexford in football? Always like to see ye do well in either sport, have strong connections to the place.

Replying To GreenandRed:  "Andy McEntee isn't stuck for cash, was a stock broker for years. Said recently he didn't take a penny from Meath County board. Not saying he wasn't paid for being manager, not sure what that meant really, but he's wealthy, not motivated to manage by money. If people think the money's so good for intercounty managers why don't they give up their jobs and try it......"
Mcentee never took a penny from Meath bar vouched expenses. And even at that he gave in very little over the 6 years. A very wealthy man outside of football. Never in it for the money. And I'd say it be same with Antrim. Maybe some mileage at most. Andy has stated many times he doesn't like the way "some managers " are been paid. His view is they not in it for the right reasons, but he is passionate about players getting their due expenses. He believes that players should never be out of pocket. Him personally he has always said he doesn't need it. Unlike for a long time in Meath players could be waiting for their expenses for ages. When Andy was in charge they got them on time every time. I hope Colm will continue this tradition

Can't see the Banty going back to Wexford. Has he not threw his hat in the ring with Down?
