You pay your money and take your chance.
After 21 years of waiting, I'm happy to pay it to see our footballers back in an All-Ireland final.

If Kilkenny were playing in it, it would be a big hammering anyway.......for Kilkenny that is

Sure the GAA should give refunds if you go to games that aren't 'close' now so! The real GAA supporters will find a way and the cash to go to games and know that it's sport, results never guaranteed.

I predicted a 9 point win for Kerry and David Clifford to be MOTM but there is no reason Galway can't beat Kerry on Sunday and I hope they do,
Kerry have some top players and in Clifford they have an exceptional talent who is very hard to stop, Galway also have some top players and they have a great spirit about them and all pulling together for Pádraic Joyce.
I hope Shane Walsh plays at his best, those few silly crossfield passes he made the last day could be fatal against Kerry,
Weighing everything up Kerry are rightly strong favs but I wouldn't be surprised if Galway beat them either, hope it's a great contest, must be a great buzz down in Galway for it.

Exactly.. If it transpires that we are beaten or are well beaten, I still want to be there to support our team and to enjoy the experience. If it transpires that we win or win well, I really really want to be there. If neutrals think there is a potential for bad value, then stay at home. We will have plenty of support.

One guarantee for Sunday is this Galway team won't be hammered. Galway's defence is good and one day all their forwards are going to play well on the same day. If they'll admit it publicly or not Kerry football's obsession was beating Dublin, the 6 in a row hurt Kerry. Sunday is a different psychology and if Galway put them under pressure Galway might just find a way to win it.

I was only 5 years old in '01, so unfortunately I can't say I remember the build up, buzz or celebrations very much. I have to say the buzz around the county at the moment and all the flags and bunting around (particularly in Mervue/Ballybane area) is filling me with enormous amounts of happiness and pride. I have been to every Galway championship game since I was probably 7 years old and properly fell in love with the game so whats happening with this team now has been a long wait. I live on the right side of the border with Mayo so was in school with a lot of them and throughout my years in school have had some god awful Galway teams to follow and on top of that in my 5 years in secondary school we didn't beat Mayo once. To say I'm looking forward to the occasion and being amongst it all in the Hill on Sunday is an understatement. Win or Lose on Sunday I am so grateful to the players and management for giving me my most enjoyable year following the Galway footballers and filling the whole county with real hope for the years to come. GAILLIMH ABÚ.

when he goes on one of his rants i turn down sound
God help us i see hes coming to Galway for a preview night
Could they have not got anybody else
Even Kerry folk are embarresed by him now"
In fairness to Pat Spillane every single talking mouth was saying the Kerry-Dublin game was the final and the rest was just making up the numbers. Colm O Rourke etc always on about the division 2 thing. Now they have the best Leinster teams in division 2 so they will change the narrative.

From the county whose supporters used to regularly leave Croke park and head for home before they were even presented with the Liam McCarthy, when they used to win that is. And now they send back final tickets! Spare your catty comments.

I'd pay double that for Tyrone to be there, win or loose. All Ireland final's are special. The buildup, the papers the craic.

Firstly I think everyone thinks Mayo people dont want Galway to win, some dont and some dont care.
Id be one for it wont bother me if Galway win it, but being honest only cause of the All Ireland last year, if it was after Mayo losing the finals to Dublin then I would be sickened as Id see it as Mayo came up against one of the best teams ever and gave it everything but couldn't do it and then Galway come along then and win it when you could say Dublin were not the team they were..but Mayo had there best chance last year and botched it, no offence to Tyrone but thats how I see it.

it should be a good final, no pressure on Galway it all on Kerry and no one knows what Kerry will do under the pressure. Galway should have to stay in it as long as possible and try to knick it at the end. Both teams play defensively, one with full time sweeper and other with a double sweeper so neither team will be hammering the other.

Kelly is well able to mark Clifford, and unlike Mayo or Dublin in the fist half, Galway will have other bodies around to cover space infront and around him. T O Sullivan I think will be well able to mark Shane Walsh and Walsh hasnt done a whole lot from play yet but will need him to keep the consistency with the frees.
Foley probably be on Comer, good match up but I think Comer can get joy off Foley, will need help off Morley to try and curb him. Finnerty is benefitting from being the over looked forward as all focus does be on Walsh and Comer and Finnerty does be left one on one and hes well able to kick scores so h could be vital for them scores that keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Geaney should come out firing after not a great performance in the Dublin game. as someone already said they could try and isolate him inside early and give high ball in which should be the plan as Gleeson isnt confident under them and Silke, Glynn, Molloy, Mchugh wouldn't be the biggest of lads, probably Glynn be picking him up and Silke on P Clifford.

I actually think Galway might get caught around the middle for athleticism, i think Kerry player have too much on the legs for the lads Galway have around the middle, Conroy, Tierney and Kelly, all have been good players so far but Kerry are a big step up in conditioning and movement, I THINK, from what they have played so far in Croker.

Gavin White if hes out will be big loss for Kerry, very important player for there transition into attack.
Galway bench is not great, Kerry have the advantage there.
Both teams have a few longe range shooters so I that as pretty even.
I see this going like the Mayo/Dublin games, where its close for most of the game but the subs coming on to make the difference for Kerry.

I don't agree with the hammering part but having to pay €90 to bring a child in who won't even use a seat is disgraceful. Not even getting into the fact that getting 2 seats together is almost impossible.

These are the future players you are depriving of going to an all ireland because of pure greed.

Galway are naturally a physically big side.....for me the jury is still out on Kerry all the pressure is on them to win this one, had O'Callaghan had been good it to play the last day Kerry wouldn't be in the final. Galway have improved with every game of be the championship and have forwards who can score , a solid mf and have improved defensively.

I think Galway have a massive chance of winning.

Spot on Saynothing. Getting to an all Ireland final is special and it creates a great buzz and excitement. The chat the searching for tickets, the build up. Up for the match. The morning of a final. The nerves. The pride when your county runs onto Croke park pitch. The parade. Its all fantastic. Winning is the icing on the cake but just to get there is brilliant too. Its a special time for supporters.

Would they really though? lets not forget Con O'Callaghan played in last year AI semi final defeat to Mayo. Good teams have good replacements they don't rely on one player to win them a match. Limerick hurlers proved that without Cian Lynch.

Con was in poor form last year. He never got going at all. He was excellent against Kildare in this year's Leinster final, so he was definitely showing a good bit more.
Whether they would have won with him is speculation. We'll never know. However, the chances are he'd be better than the player he'd replace. Dublin lacked a ball-winning target inside.
Paddy Small gave them a bit of this when he came on, but he's not at Con's level.
Limerick were well ahead of every other team last year with Lynch. You could argue that the gap was much closer this year without him. They were run very close by Clare twice, Galway and Kilkenny, whereas they walked the championship last year.
Losing one of your best players always makes a difference. Numbers 17-26 will never be at the level of one of the top 3 players on a team, no matter how strong a panel is.
