Replying To Vish:  "There should be lots of spares for this final as neither county have a reputation for bringing large numbers for games.
Kerry will think they have it won, already made the trip v Dublin so it will affect their turnout, while Galway will max out at 25/30k at best.."
Utter nonsense and the post also highlights you have zero knowledge on the allocations given to counties for AI finals.

Galway have played in Div 1 in 4 of the last 5 years and in 2018 topped the table with 6 wins and a draw.

In this years championship have beaten the sides that finished 2nd and 3rd in Div 1.

Division 2 is completely different to Division 1 in terms of the fact that you get 7 much higher quality games. Absolutely agreed. But that doesn't mean that all Division 2 teams are of an inferior quality . You probably have about 10 teams ( not necessarily the same 10 every year ) who are of tier 1 quality... so you are always going to have the anomaly where some top teams end up in Division 2. In 2020 , Mayo were narrowly relegated . Bounced straight back in 2021 and got to AI final beating Dublin in the process. In 2021 it was Galway who were caught at the end of the by a late Monaghan goal, but regrouped in 2022 , straight back up and in to an AI. In 2022 it was Dublin who were relegated. And they will surely bounce straight back and I wouldnt bank on them not getting to the AI final in 2023.
Bottom line , yes for sure across the 8 teams Div 1 is far far stronger than Div 2 . But it doesnt mean that all teams in Div 2 are inferior to Div 1 teams... and more interestingly the poorer level of competition in Div 2 doesn't appear to hamper the good teams progressing in the championship.

Pat talks a load of dung. But he is charismatic and funny ( not sure whether he means it or not) , but he attracts a listenership because of this. People dont listen to him to get an expert insight or analysis, because God knows, you wont get that. But , people listen just to hear the next outrageously stupid thing he says. That's the entertainment business, guys and like him or hate him it has worked for him.

You just don't know when to stop. Dublin are now a Division 2 team so by your logic the team that just lost out to Kerry by 1 point despite going long stretches of not scoring and by all accounts having a pretty poor first half, won't get anywhere next to the final next year. Riiiiight.

Dublin lost did they not..? Anyway it's not about whether a Division 2 team can get to a Final it's whether they are able to beat a top Division 1 team in the Final…. We will see in a couple of weeks time.. I certainly hope they do….

Being in Division 2 can be an advantage for teams coming through as it allows them introduce players and game plans without jumping straight in the deepend. Monaghan were in Division 3 when they made their Ulster breakthrough in 2013. Since 2015 they have been in Division 1 but going flat out with most of the same players and same game plan to stay there, and they have been falling further and further back in the championship.

2 years ago - thats well outside the 4hr window but no matter. The Croker Con final was in 2021 as it happens but time & reality need not concern us here.
That was when the King of Bohemia and the butcher's wife got involved in our exchange. They put aside their differences over the stolen ham and the ownership of the mongrel involved in the theft to take my side in the argument. And were well pleased when the actual result justified their interference in what was up to then a local matter.
The thieving canine took your part as I recall.

Ah the good old days!"
Lol......Nice SOH, sure its only a bit of fun!

This could be big hammering for Galway Sunday. You be pay €90 for one sided game and no minor game. At least yesterday was a close one.
