Dublin V Kerry

Replying To JoeSoap:  "Unbelievable from O'Sé, an incredible kick to win it. Fair play to the Dubs, a word for Ciaran Kilkenny and especially Fitzsimons in that 2nd half, he was sensational in defence after a tough first half and Kilkenny was central to the comeback (along with a wondergoal from Costello).

I think Dublin kicked a lot of wides so will have regrets.

Looking forward to the final, I think Galway-Kerry will be a cracker"
Which Kerry player was pushing the Dublin players back as O'Shea was preparing to take the final free? He was lucky the free was not cancelled and ball thrown up. Stupid antics. Does management discuss these things with their players? Not moving away when the free is awarded is another.

Difference between going for it and pulling wrecklessly on it… compare it to someone going down to lift a wall and lad comes flying in with the boot, no different - both going for the ball you can say but not relevant.

Kerry should have been wondering why they were only 5 points up at half time and despite their posession still gave Dublin plenty of chances. Rather than push on at the start of the second half they played most of it on Dublin's terms. Their goal brought life to a game that had gone flat for a while. A peach of a finish. I thought it would go to extra time but O'Shea took his free well. They shouldn't have let Dublin, with a lot less weapons in attack than Galway have, back into the game though. Should be a good final, I think the Tribesmen will win it. All the pressure is now on Kerry. Shane Walsh to go up the gears for it, he's been quiet by his standards this summer. Galway seem to improve with every game.

Great game and serious entertainment akin to ourselves and Galway - gladiatorial stuff!! Fair play to Kerry - a great final awaits and both teams have a real shot.

Let's not talk about the S O'S incident. It just wouldn't be right. Passion is passion.

Congrats to my old pal Ciarrai Mick, delighted for you enjoy the final pal.

We had a bit of bad luck coming and it came today, no complaints, Dublin surprised me today, very easily could have won, unlucky not to.

Think o Shea was very lucky not to get a yellow for penalty incident..not his first kick but his trailing leg which made contact with keeper..I actually thought when Kerry went 6 up..the injury to Gavin white looked as if it might be dodgy,be a huge loss if he's out..I really can't see Kerry losing final now..on another point amazing no controversy involving any points scored with no hawk eye working..

Anyone who thinks O Se deserved a card after penalty does not understand Gaelic games.

yeah should have been a straight red for his reckless challenge on the goalkeeper.

It was reckless

Yeah, good point. There were 1 or 2 iffy ones. Hawk eye a disaster.

Jack O'Connor famously said, in 2012 after Kerry were beatrn by Donegal that if Kerry played like Donegal he would get 'bata agus bother'. I wonder if he'll be sacked tonight because they played EXACTLY like DL 2012! Majority of scores from turnovers, short kickouts to retain posession, long spells of possession with no attempt to score etc. etc. I'm not saying it wasn't a great game. It was but isn't it incredible the influence that Jim McGuinness has had on Gaelic football!

On the follow through his left boot collided with Comerford's head alright. They gave a free out, like I said that's about the height of it. It's a collision after going for the ball.

Had O'Sé blasted that ball into the net and his left foot comes through and collides with Comerford, would people be calling for a red card?

Happy enough as a Dub as I thought Kerry could really have smashed us.

Galway in with a great shout in the final imo."
Thanjs for your kind words Mesamis and a great comeback by Dublin. Dublin showed the heart of the true champions they are.

Today is Kerry's day

Dubs went down fighting"
Thanks Jimbo. Dubs fought all the way like the champions they are.

Fantastic game today. Well done both teams. Kerry probably just about deserved to win. Ulster football at its best.

Ah thanks so much Username. Very gracious indeed. Yes Dublin very unlucky with Con etc but fought hard like the true champions they are. Expected nothing else. We will enjoy tonight first. A real tough way to lose but thanks again ole pal.

Very true, he revolutionised the game. Kerry were as defensive and cynical as any team there's ever been today but that's modern GAA and they did what it took to win (with a bit of help from ref for last free). They'll act holier than thou but it's cute hoorism.

Replying To galwayford:  "Very negative from a Galway man. Galway have the game to run Kerry very close. Hope they get a good ref, as Kerry will pull strokes and foul if they can. Galway can win, if they believe. Dubs did not believe today. Galway need a good start and some breaks, the way Kerry got the luck today. Gaillimh abú"
Carlsberg don't do sarcasm, but if they did… you'd be on the Ballygowen.

Down with recklessness in the GAA. Let's get a safety spec to cover all possible incidents with a template for any safety violations.
