Dublin V Kerry

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Kerry should be winning this handy , maybe by 4/5 points with no Con available for to Dublin , and this Dublin team is nowhere near the level of its predecessor despite being a solid team all the same.

Replying To Ulsterman:  "2 great football counties and it's always a big occasion rightly. However they are also 2 of the most cynical, physical counties but that always gets buried in the hype and build up. Biting, gouging, headbutting, fighting, dirty hits, off the ball incident have followed this fixture around for decades and it's been part of what makes it so exciting. Of course you will NEVER hear any of this on The Sunday Game or in any other parts of the media. That sort of forensic examination is only reserved for "Nordie" sides. "You know what they're like...and all that"."
Are you looking after the hawkeye this evening

I have huge respect for Kerry football, but they've a reasonably poor track record against teams who (a) aren't afraid of them and (b) are the same level of them, the last 15 years.

Replying To sam1884:  "There'll be a lot of eyes on Sunday's match and to be fair some columists all across the country started to catch onto what was happening in the last number of weeks. This game will be given forensic analysis in many quarters.

Lets hope there isn't any sort of melee though as there was in their league game, that would cause a lot of awkwardness that all media or CCCC would find hard not to comment/react to. What it's worth and hopefully I'm wrong I think there will be incidents in the two semi finals this weekend.

As for the game I don't think it'll prove to be game of the weekend, Galway and Derry will be a better game but it should still be a great watch!

Dublin are in transition and we haven't seen them at their best for two years; for Kerry they've been building from underage structures up, have the manager that started that back at the helm, it's 2014 since they won an All Ireland and Dublin's success will have hurt Kerry more than any other county.

It's an amateur sport but Kerry football lives on success, pressure on them is huge and it really is a must win game, if they can't beat Dublin whilst they're in transition where does Kerry football go!

My view is we're going to see Dublin close to their best and despite a huge Kerry performance, Dublin will win this by 5 plus."
Not a hope in hell Dublin winning this by 5 plus

I'd tend to agree with this.

Dubs are solid but Kerry should have enough to come through.

Con's a massive loss and James has only made the bench. The scales have tipped in Kerry's favour. Unless 3 or 4 of their forwards have an off day, we're going to struggle today.

Would have been confident if we had the two boys, but cant see it without the two boys, massively up against it, pity its not full team vs full team, would have been a cracking game, we've been very unlucky.

Kerry's to loose, they will never get a better shot.

Would expect kerry to win this well. Jack oconnor has gunning for this moment since 2011. Kerry took easy against Mayo so expecting big kerry. With Callaghan missing and the dubs in transition going for score Kerry 4 20 Dublin 0 15.

Safe travels

Enjoy the game

Can only see a 5-6pt win for Kerry

You need a bit of luck on your side to win an AI

Dublin are not the same side without James & Con

So that's no McCaffrey, Mannion, O'Callaghan, McCarthy etc

All were pivitol key members of the 2019 side, if Kerry don't win today it'll be very surprising indeed

But sure let's see anyway

No point in even tuning into the match today then with these landslide predictions.....

Dublin without Con so the advantage is with Kerry, they still have to go out and do it though, not fully convinced that this Kerry team are as good as people think, a draw and extra time wouldn't surprise me, Dublin's biggest loss is they haven't Cluxton anymore, his kickouts were brilliant.
Can Dublin contain Clifford? if they can limit his influence then it will be very close.
I'm going for the draw. Kerry to win in extra time.

Kerry have had a bit of luck this season, with rival teams key players picking up injuries this year , and so far have got away with it with some shady performance's,
Room for error is there for them again today , so If they dont take advantage of these swings this their will be chaos down there this winter.
Its Kerry's to win & lose.

Kerry lads telling me David Clifford isn't 100%. Wondering, like myself, why he wasn't taken off early in quarter final after he tweaked his ankle. He'll surely start but Kerry have plenty of attacking weapons. But if they leave too many frees for Dean Rock it'll decide the game. I still Kerry by a point or two even if McCarthy and O'Callaghan get gametime.

First time I ever turned off GAA coverage to watch tennis, the scheduling is all wrong for sure, rushing through the All Ireland series is madness.

Oh my. The game hasn't even started and both RTÉ commentators have informed is that whoever wins today will win the all Ireland. And they haven't just said it once, it's all they have to say.

I'm not sure why Galway would even show up.

Just before match starts - again, what's the story with the allocation of Hill tickets? Yet again, the GAA quite deliberately hand a big psychological advantage in heavily biased allocation to the Dubs at that end of the ground - creating a wall of noise and intimidation that is actually worth scores to them. Hill better be 50:50 allocation for the final - whoever is in it with Galway!!
