Replying To Brummiejoe:  "Are you still able to watch Premier League games on a Saturday afternoon in the south. I don't think you can in the North. Over here nearly all the pubs by me used to show whatever game the majority wanted on a Saturday PM. I think Sky won a Court case blocking transmissions with the threat of a massive fine for the owners if they continued to show them. I think the interest has lessened to a degree but as a previous poster mentioned a lot of people I know are using other means of gaining access. I remember being in a pub by Croke Park in 2010, Sat PM after doing the tour of the ground and there was a game on. And hardly a soul in the place either."
No, they don't show a 3pm Saturday game.

They usually show the early and late game, and 2 on Sunday. That's plenty and it's unusual these days that the bigger teams play at 3pm Sat anyway.

To whom it concerns.
Sweet Jesus one would think that the word Tariffs is the key word to fixing the the American presidency and beyond or that Biden is done and dusted.
If Kamala Harris wins the American Presidency, does it really make one iota bit of difference to the safety of either America or the rest of the free western world, I really think not.

The United States coupled with the United Nations and / or the leaders of the so-called super powers have a lot on their plate and a lot to answer for.

I have watched in my life time documentaries of the pre first world war, second world war, Korean war, etc, etc, etc. But what I see today on live TV news, documentaries and otherwise is not only inexcusable, revulsion but sickening.

It is very easy to express here a point of view politically and other wise with the protection of anonymity, however as far as I can see nothing has changed from the narrated clips of historic pieces of film of pre first world war, second world war, the cold war, Korean war, Sudan, Ukraine, Syria, etc, etc, etc. It's endless, but close to nothing like what is happening on live television today in the Israeli conflict.

We Lambaste Trump for a variety of reasons, ie, we dont like his verbal's, his wealth, his body language his hair style and the list goes on.

Question, ? What critism is being hurled on a pro rata basis in the direction of , Benjamin Netanyahu / Putin in particular, the United Nations assembly people that matter. What we are are seeing today is a narrated rerun of the second world war full stop with no apologies.

The wars of nearing yesteryear were near 90 % wars of air, sea and land soldiers dressed in appropriate attire, sadly todays war is close to 90% civilian from new born up wards.

Has the world learned from the sickening historic experiences of the second world war, personally and sadly I don't think we have or ever will.

This piece of meaningless nothing of mine is no more than my tuppence worth of what's happening out there going unnoticed.

I agree, when you look at what is being allowed and orchestrated to happen by the so called free western world it is just mind boggling and completely sickening in this day and age.

I'm not too sure that Mr Putin is very worried about anything the "free western states" can throw at him, particularly as the Germans and other European countries allowed themselves become totally dependant on Russian oil.

President Joe Biden on Saturday called the Israeli strike that killed Hezbollah's Hassan Nasrallah a "measure of justice" for his four-decade reign of terror.

Nothing about the measure of injustice that befell the innocent civilian Men and Women young and old, the Children, the young, the very young and the near born, - I rest my case.

This war game is nearing an end and I worry about that.

Despite what anyone claims, there are no morals in war, only death and suffering. Both sides want to claim that they somehow are in the right will highlight the evil of the other side when in reality both sides have no pay no heed to any morals or international rules of war in their conduct.
The only hope I see out there is if you cast your mind back to the Vietnam War which despite the impact on the US was largely a civil war, that after all these years a westerner can visit the country and be amazed by the warmth of the people towards them. However it was a country that once the war finished was left to get on with dealing with the aftermath by itself. The problem for the middle east I do not see the endgame as there is nobody on either side willing to admit living on hate will never achieve its aim of the destruction of the other side.

This war is different, in so far that it is a historic war, an unforgiving war in fact.

The United States took ownership of
the Vietnam war and lost, in fact I'm not aware of any war that was won by the United States, - I stand to be corrected on that.

Major sanctions have been taken out
against Russia for their unlawful invasion of the Eukrain and the authorities they inflicted on innocent by standers and civilians in general.

There is a list of sanctions taken out against war agressing countries through the years, but not one taken against Israel

The United Nations can agree to flex their muscles against such countries as they see fit, coupled with the implementation of the Geneva Convention in its entirety not to mention the Geneva Protocol.
The war between Russia and the Eukrain with Russia being the agressor
is a war not only against Eukrain but also against Europe.

Ursula Von der Leyon who is President of the European has failed to critise, condemn or get involved in an appropriate war of words against all the aggressors to give some hope to the unfortunate simple human beings that are suffering both physically and mentally beyond description.

PS. Your post is well worded.

You are attentive to the propaganda and it suits your point of view and that is fine as it goes.

I have visited both Ukraine (pre-and post 2012) and Russia (circa 2018) ...both wonderful countries with wonderful people living in them. I totally understand why Ukraine would wish (for economic reasons particularly) to move out of the shadow of Russia and establish their own true independence. But there would be no Russia without Ukraine --- what is Russia today emerged from Kiev-Rus (or Kyiv-Rus if you prefer) in the 13th century iirc. And the world "Ukraine" in Russian means "borderlands". The history of both countries is intertwined to a degree that most people in the West dont understand.

It's right that Ukraine takes it's place among the nations of the earth and EU membership is a legitimate aspiration for it. But it should NEVER have gone down the route of allowing the US manipulate it and sought NATO membership. It doesnt matter if Putin or anyone else was in charge in Russia, the action of applying to join NATO in itself made it an existential threat to the Russian state and legitimised Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

This war in Ukraine should NEVER HAVE HAPPENED and all the loss of life it has caused and the displacement that has occurred could all have been avoided with greater understanding of the issues .

Israel is too small to control the whole area.

The USA's wish is that Saudi (90% Sunni Muslim) and Israel (Jewish) dominate as the Sunni population dominates the region. The strikes by Israel on the Yemeni Houtis (Shia Muslim) last week points to cooperation between the 2 US-backed powers in the region.

The weakening (and possible upcoming extermination) of Hezbollah (Shia Muslim) in Lebanon by Israel will cut off Iran's (Shia) access to the Mediterranean Sea and allow the USA's allies to dominate trade in the area.

It reads as a war completely manufactured by the US as an excuse to weaken Iran (which is the point we are at now) with the potential for a follow-up direct invasion (or at least direct strikes) of Iran by the USA (and possibly NATO, by extension).

All of the above has given Israel and excuse to pursue its (openly) long-stated objective - to wipe the Palestinian people off the face of the earth.

And perceived NATO aggression/interference in the area will pull Russia into 1 of 3 predicaments:
1. Back Iran
2. See the Middle East as a significant enough distraction for NATO to push onwards in Ukraine and towards Poland/Romania.
3. (Worst case and most likely) both of the above.

Add into the above that Putin has been in close communication with China for the past 3-4 years and all our worst fears may well come true.

It's telling too that both he and Netanyahu can freely visit allied nations while the UN has arrest warrants out against both. It seems both sets of teams have been selected, amd it's simply a question of if or when the main event takes place.

There is no need to "weaken Iran." Like Iraq, Syria and Libya unless there is internal revolution to overthrow what are undoubtedly vile regimes, the west ought to stay out.

Same applies to Israel. There was a rationale for retaliating against Hamas but they have clearly lost the run of themselves and pushed a totally inept American administration onto a semi war footing.

And in Ukraine, they have decided to basically allow Ukraine the power to initiate a nuclear war if they attack Russia with NATO supplied missiles! A mad war that like all wars will end in a compromise that was available two years ago - allowing the secession of Russian dominated areas.

Instead, they have 100% backed a former comedian whose current role is as a war time leader is leading us all into a complete disaster.

What we are experiencing right now in those war torn countries has absolutely nothing to do with propaganda, this is for real. I have never been to Russia, Eukrain, Israel or the Middle East, but I have travelled quiet a bit and learned quiet a lot from the likes of Austria and Poland.
It's my understanding that Russia wants to reclaim Eukrain just like that, it became unattached from Russia peacefully and legally, now however they changed their mind and simply want it back, just like that, that is not propaganda or near it, but I do understand your views.
I mentioned in a previous post that the Israeli conflict is an "Unforgiving war" it is also a war of complexities and the longer the war goes on the more completed it becomes.
Moments of madness are behind a lot if not all decision making in the day to day conflicts, irrespective of who suffers.
Finally, NK, China, Russia, Syria, Iran, etc, etc. Are not blessed with canonised canonised saintly leader's for want of a more appropriate description.

Good post. It's actually shocking how things have deteriorated to such an extent that we have two horrific wars taking place in Eastern Europe/Mediterrranean.

Noone can deny that Anti-Semetism is still prevalent around the world, but there is no doubt that Netanyahu and co have used this as a pretext to unashamedly wreak havoc in Gaza and Southern Lebanon. They are literally repeating the same MO that the their historical worst enemies did across Europe in the 30s and 40s.

However, because that aligns with wider US interests in the region it is sickeningly and hypocritically tolerated. The Iranian regime are far from saints themselves, but it was almost laughable if it wasn't so serious, to hear the western hand-wringing response to the Iranian missile launches yesterday. How any of them could stand up with a straight face and utter their words of condemnation is beyond me.

The whole region could explode and as ever, it'll be the ordinary citizens who suffer most, at the hands of the psychotic power lovers pulling the levers.
