Do you care about club football in Galway? I'm certainly not interested in club football in Cavan or Longford etc etc. I never said that club football should stop or that it's not important, of course it is but Co football is the show piece of the game and now it's all over until 2023. The GAA club season is in full flow but if the GAA want to move their major competitions to earlier in the year, people will move onto all the major soccer, boxing, rugby competitions etc that are taking place and receiving all the media attention. It's debate and it doesn't matter what I think, there'll be pros and cons. However people can't complain other sports are stealing a march on the GAA when their biggest competitions are run off as quickly as possible. The interest in Shamrock Rovers qualifying for group stage european competition, Munster planning to host SA at PUC or more column pages to PL soccer shows the GAA's usual exclusive coverage window is being filled by other sports, even before those other sports get to the business end of their seasons.
