For me they're consistently the second best team in Munster over the past 10 years. Ye regressed a good bit in that time. But in 2022 the signs are good for Cork and Limerick football.

One swallow doesn't make a summer. Clare have been in division 2 for 7 years. Limerick beat Clare on penalties but that doesn't automatically make them better than Clare. I would say that based on recent times and the fact we are now in the quarter finals, we are second best in Munster.

Stop talking nonsense. Clare are a very decent team and better team today over 70 minutes. Simple as that.

Congrats Clare, a deserved win. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8592 - 11/06/2022 20:11:55 2424031 Link 1 |
We'll know more about how decent Clare are after their quarter Final game. My hunch is that they'll be hammered if their opponents are Kerry or Dublin but we'll see. What we do know tonight is that Roscommon weren't good enough today, weren't good enough against Galway and are deservedly out of the championship.

Have you figured out yet why New York don't play in the league?

Limerick, cork and tipp could and have beaten clare on a given day How many given days did they actually do that in league or championship in the past 10 years? Anthony Cunningham got Roscommon promoted and won Division 2. What serious questions would you ask Roscommon County Board? GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7346 - 11/06/2022 20:22:59 2424040 Link 2 |
Rossies had the game won - somehow contrived to lose it at the end - not ruthless enough when they had to be tirawleybaron (Mayo) - Posts: 1109 - 11/06/2022 20:40:44 2424049 Link 0 |

Well Green and Red, the question I'd like to ask the Roscommon county Board is why is Anthony Cunningham still Manager when we've only had one championship win since 2019 and that against a division 4 team playing most of the match with 14 men. Would ye be happy in Mayo if that was Horan's record since he came back in 2019 .

Indeed and yet a team from Leinster will win it.

Very true. I know football is big in Clare around Kilrush and Cooraclare, etc but I didn't think they could beat Roscommon to be honest about it. Clare have some nice footballers but usually not enough to compete. I'm very happy for them.

No backdoor in 2020 and 2021 skews his stats a bit. County Board might be happy though that ye got promoted and won Div 2 though? Would a win today have cemented his case? I don't know what his targets were for 2022. Why did he drop Donie Smith today would be one question to ask. I wouldn't be happy if that was Horan's record, no. But even if, and looked probable, in second half today, that Kildare would put us out, our beloved County board would not have sacked Horan.

A good achievement . And Munster football is going in the right direction and its a good achievement to have 3 in the QFs. But lets be honest if ros had the mettle to close out a game that they were cruising in and if the draw hadnt been kind to cork and limerick i.e mayo would have beaten limerick and kildare would have beaten Cork. In that scenario kerry would be munsters only rep in QF and the only rep in Div 1 of the league . The reality is that despite the QF draw Kerry are the only Munster team in most peoples top 10.

No that's you. Or at least you think you do anyway. Why don't you tell us all what the Roscommon CB should do going forward? Seeing as you're "questioning" them. oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1380 - 11/06/2022 21:23:59 2424075 Link 1 |
