Clare Vs Roscommon

Clare the better team in the first half. Expected much more from the Rossies. They flatter to deceive at Croke Park time and time again. Having said that they may come back and win this but they will be an easy touch in the quarter finals.

Unfortunately I have to agree. Doesn't bode well for us even if we win today. A top team will tear us to shreds. Zero intensity from us and no defensive plan at all. Clare walk through at their ease and then they race back into their defensive positions to thwart our attack. Management have a lot to answer for and surely will need another shake up for next season.

That is a deplorable performance from roscommon. They have lost to probably the fourth best team in munster. Shocking fare and questions need to be asked from co board as to why Anthony cunningham was left in charge. Its extremely disappointing

Imagine if that was played out in a packed provincial venue.

Congratulations to the Clare Footballers. I didn't expect it to be honest. Hard luck Roscommon.

So there'll be 3 teams from Munster in the quarter finals. Looks like the hurling province can play a bit of Football as well.

Congrats Clare, never say die spirit, showed great character to stay in the fight at the end, will be tough for our team to take, never really got going in championship this year and played in spurts over 3 games..on a positive note we are in Div 1 next year so hoping we can learn from today

I do not know why you are making a funny remark about Clare being the 4th best team in Munster (I would say they're better than that) when Roscommon are only the third best team in Connacht.
This was always going to be a close game. Whilst Roscommon are Division 1 now, realistically, Roscommon are a division 1/2 team and will be favourites to be relegated next year. Clare are also an established division 2 team.
Whilst I think Roscommon were understandably confident going into the game, I would be amazed if you expected anything other than a tight game. If you thought Roscommon were going to walk the game, then you have massive delusions as to where you are.

Well done Clare. Great comeback when all looked lost at 5 points down with just a few minutes to go. The double is still on!

Pure ignorance right there. Clare are second best team in Munster.

West Cork has always had a football tradition. Same for west Limerick and west Clare. They aren't exclusively hurling counties.

Do you not know that Limerick beat Clare at home. There is no way they are the second best team in Munster.

I said probably fourth best team! Nothing funny about it. Why would you think it was funny?? Limerick, cork and tipp could and have beaten clare on a given day. I still stand over my comments that serious questions need to be asked of roscommon county board who left this manager in charge.

Incredible how clueless some so called Gaa fans are. Anyone with a scintilla of knowledge would realise Clare have been a top ten county for past 6/7 years.

There is very little between Clare, limerick, Cork, you could name any of the three second best in Munster, Munster teams have no fear of any county outside of Kerry, when we take on Kerry different story.

That would put them in top 2 in Division 2 and promoted to Division 1 in the past 6/7 years.

One loss to Limerick doesn't make you better. Clare are a consistent Div 2 side so I still rate them above Limerick. You wouldn't beat Roscommon.

To be fair the poster in question didn't know why New York didn't play in the league so it's understandable they wouldn't think Clare have been on the up for the last few years.
