I was wrong. It wasn't 20 points defeat for Meath. Dunne, you're also wrong. Meath didn't win by 2 points. What planet do you live on, btw? Da Dubs could have won that by 40 points today, if they really felt pressed about it. Enjoy the Tailteann Cup competition. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 1927 - 15/05/2022 18:13:34 2417302 Link 2 |

Lockjaw. Wanna thank you for doing this during league and indeed this. But I feel my continued participation in this bit of fun is taking away from those who are here to enjoy it and have a bit of fun. As my weekly prediction are been trolled by one or two gombeens. So out of respect for your good self and others. I will no longer be posting.

Kildare are very poor, dubs to beat them by 15 points plus dec (None) - Posts: 271 - 15/05/2022 21:47:14 2417442 Link 0 |
Lads, has it really come to this? If a proud Meath man thinks his team can upset the odds and beat their old enemy so what? Anonymous Internet trolling must be one of the most cowardly things going. The worst thing about it is the same culprits probably spend a lot of time virtue signalling when it comes to mental health issues, and fail to see the irony. Royaldunne, as a long time poster here I've had my disagreements with you on occasion, but it was healthy debate rather than snide and hateful comments. I'd encourage you to rise above it and continue posting your predictions. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9155 - 16/05/2022 09:14:55 2417483 Link 1 |

Lockjaw thanks for putting this together..it's giving people who might have very litttle interest in football a reason to keep an eye on results..think some tailtean games will be hard to predict because no one knows who will be available..this is a bit of fun with no pressure.. Don't pass any notice. I had the dubs win by 5 but really thought Meath would have a serious go at it. Think the dubs fooled plenty into thinking they could be caught in Leinster this year.

Yeah it's hard to know what way the Taillteann Cup will go. I don't understand why they've done a north south divide. Covid is no longer a factor. I suppose travel costs are an issue with the price of fuel. But my attitude to that would be, "feck it we were all locked up long enough, time to live a bit now and enjoy ourselves again" I reckon a better idea would have been to have an open draw, and then based on what fixtures unfolded, schedule double headers at a neutral venue. Try to ensure no particular team has an awful long way to travel and at least supporters would get a couple of games to take in for their money. Anways, I'd have Cavan as warm favourites for it. They are on an upward trajectory and I'd have them favorites even at this stage to emerge from Div 3 of the league in 2023. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9155 - 16/05/2022 11:12:44 2417584 Link 0 |
Financial - if neighbouring counties are playing attendances will be bigger. Most likely explanation for me

Maybe yeah but I'm sure even the good folks of Wexford and Offaly aren't exactly over the moon about playing each other again? Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9155 - 16/05/2022 13:17:20 2417676 Link 0 |
Thanks for informing me. I just read the draw. So, what happens to the likes of Meath, Cork, Tyrone, Mayo, etc.? Back door system?

Was it fun to post predictions based on your heart instead of your head?

Trolls? Some people might refer to us as realists. "Dublin and Meath have met 66 times in the championship with Dublin winning 39 to Meath's 19. There have been eight draws." And a lot of the good aspects of those undeniable statistics for Meath, was they were ever before Dublin became the 21st Century juggernaut that it is. If Meath men like Tommy Tiernan or Hector posted that Meath would beat the Dubs by two points, I'd accept if for what they do… comedy. When somebody actually posts it as not comedy (i.e. reality), I accept it as what it is… delusional! foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 1927 - 16/05/2022 17:01:56 2417850 Link 1 |
