Don't think COB will be distracted by a few of us shooting the breeze. But succession planing is never a bad idea, but I get your point, he is doing a good job with u20's and for now maybe that' the priority.

Wasn't aware of this. Certainly wouldn't be opposed to O'Bric doing another year with the under 20's and the development panel to get players ready. But we need more coaching expertise on the senior panel to help those lads ages 21-25 who will be key players on the seniors for the coming years. If we were to go out and lose the 3 group games there would be huge pressure to have O'Bric replace the current management

Went over to watch the 20s train last night, saw Brian o halloran doing ball work and running is he back from injury, he'd be a great addition to bring off the bench against Kerry if he's fit.

Heard O'Halloran has opted against surgery or at least delayed it until after the 20s campaign to give himself a chance of playing vs Kerry.

Why would there be pressure? We're a fourth seeded team playing two division 1 teams ( ok Monaghan relegated) and either Louth or the All Ireland champions. Were starting to sound like premiership supports, get rid of the manager. If we loose all three games it wont have anything to do with O'Rourke. The problem were in at the minute is due to the lack of work years ago and its going to take years of work to get out of it. Back when we won the All Ireland at minor people were getting ahead of themselves and were saying that its great were back. It will take 10 All Irelands before were back. I think Meath clubs need to find their DNA again and really get behind the Meath cause. Clubs aren't even selling the lotto tickets, these are to raise funds for the support structures that are needed, pitches in Dunganny, a new GYM etc. All of these things take time so we need to be patient.

There would be pressure because COR said himself if there was no improvement after 2 years he wouldn't seek to continue and if we were to lose all 3 games it would be very hard to honestly say there has been progress. Louth are not a bad 2 seed for us to draw at all, we beat them in the league and I still fancy we would beat them again. Monaghan relegated from Division 1 and then beaten by Cavan at home. We have pretty much our full team back bar Walsh. Totally get your point re the new gym in Dunganny, also some 4G pitches for winter training wouldn't go amiss. But that doesn't absolve management of all blame. COR did chose to no replace the experience that left his coaching team and our level isn't where it was 3/4 years ago despite a lot of young players coming in who do have the pedigree of Leinster under 17 medals and playing Sigerson for good college teams

What are we thinking for Saturday v Kerry? id be reasonably confident in that i dont think a pathetic error strewn perfermonance is in this team in the same way that there could well be in any of meaths 3 group matches which i have a feeling we wont actually win any of. i think this will be a close run thing maybe 2 -3 point margin at most. kerry are a big team but so were Louth and meath put them away with the minimal fuss. i think it would be great to at least get to the final, after that its 50:50 probabaly v tyrone. its definitley not a vintage kerry team thats why id be disapointed to lose to them. tyrone are decent and will take beating so if were bet in final i wouldnt be surprised. but we have only been it two finals in our history, a lot less than cork, dublin kerry galway even trailing kildare, laois and offaly. so a final appearance would be brilliant , a win a bonus, a defeat saturday will feel we fell short.

I was talking to one of the selectors, and he said O'Halloran hasn't left the gym the last 3 weeks, trying to get back fit.

I would be pretty confident in a big performance from these lads and hopefully a win. As long as they stay in the game and don't let Kerry get a run of scores it's anyone's game and I think we might just have the edge on them. I definitely wouldn't say a lose on saturday would feel like "we fell short". At the start it was about winning a leinster and they completed that, anything success after that was a bonus and what a great bonus a day out at an all Ireland final would be. We can't get greedy and look to disappointment if a lose comes Saturday but we can hope for a push on and more success over the years.

who left that was experienced or who you might consider to be experienced. Are those who left coaching and doing well? If your talking about who I'm thinking then I don't think they are and I can see why COR has done his own thing. Managers has there own ideas just like you and I have.

I think Meath will win by 3, 4 or 5 points. Meath's defence is far better than that of Corks. Kerry go 15 on 15 and they conceded a lot of chances and we saw that against Cork. They have a great spread of scorers and Meath wont allow them score as easy. Meath has played both in challenges games and both teams had everyone on show then as they had in the Munster final. Meath won both and didn't have a full side out either day. Meath would have had stiffer tests in there opening few games. Cork had 4 very good goal chances in the Munster final and only got one point form those attacks. Meath has to turn up and bring their A game and knowing a lot of these lads they are very much focused on the job in hand. There a still a few big calls to be made by management and they need to put there best team out along with the best 24. Is Brian O'Halloran fit? the question on everyone's lips and with an injury to the corner back that started the first day against Westmeath then Id image Brian O'Halloran will be on the bench and if he comes on Id expect to see him getting to know some of the Kerry boys who I'm sure will be queueing up to test out his shoulder. I think the management has to give all of these things careful consideration before naming their squad. Meath Roscommon final.
