I'd be surprised if they went back down. They are good enough to pick up a few wins here and there and as previous poster said arent far off a few teams already up there. Blayney seem to have alot of potential coming through and they seem to be managing it fairly well. Be interesting to see can they finally win another senior championship surely that's there aim at least in the next decade.

Well done to Magheracloone on the win today, very good first season back in senior for them winning the league and a championship semi final appearance. Hopefully sets them up for an even better run next year. SomeLad (Monaghan) - Posts: 11 - 01/11/2025 22:01:11 2642564 Link 1 |

Your league is a mere afterthought. It exists to prop up a championship your county board think is helping your county outfit. For that reason, you've the most uncompetitive championship in Ulster. The delusions of grandeur around the county team is killing the club game in Monaghan.

Realistically blaney are miles off most senior teams will struggle to stay up only up because Carrick had an eye on Ulster

Our championship and league structures are fine. We've three highly contested championships and, while our league isn't as competitive, it's a stand alone competition that has a separate identity to the championship. Deriding our 'parish' league, as you say, is telling. Maybe you should develop a 'parish' league yourselves.

Shows enough what scotstown thought about the league final when they trained Friday night and again this morning. Fair play to Magheracloone, can only beat the team put in front of them but being realistic here, The whole things a cod. madformonaghan (Monaghan) - Posts: 2 - 02/11/2025 13:12:27 2642637 Link 0 |

So how are the teams competing in the 3 Cavan championship determined in a given year, are they picked at random?? please don't say that league position determines which championship competition a team plays in, while at the same time saying the league "has a separate identity to the championship"

Yes but the nature of monaghan senior championship at present, they'll fancy retaining their status. Scotstown inniskeen are the front runners but the rest isnt arent world beaters. It can be a championship where unexpectedly teams get relegated or loose form etc truagh and maghercloone in recent times even the champions of 22 this year. Blayney cremartin corduff not much between them on any given day. If they put in a good off season they'll have a good enough chance of surviving.

Farce wouldn't have happened if league finals were earlier in the year
