Anyone make the Clon vs Scot game yesterday by any chance? Just seeing the score line, holy god….. Doesn't bode well for this year's competitions when last years 2 Co finalists have such a gulf.

This is unreal football from our u20s in Inniskeen. Simply superb footballers and a massive credit goes to Paul Curran and the development of our youth in Monaghan

Did you post this at half time? Surely satire when half the squad aren't bothered to show up for a tier 2 competition.

Well done to our Under 20s on their victory in the Leo Murphy Cup Final this evening. Also we'll done to Paul and the rest of his management team. Every inter county game these lads get, bring them closer to becoming the Senior stars of the future. Some very exciting prospects on view this evening. Looking forward to 2 more games before the season ends. As I have said a number of times in the past 2 years, the future is bright for Monaghan football.

Isn't that how you got an Ulster medal. Not that you were showing much of that form on Saturday evening. I think the county had you in the right position.

Winning an ulster competition is no mean feat at any level, I hope the Tuesday club is in full swing today because these lads deserve it…..

Mistaken identity pal? My opinion doesn't invalidate your opinion. Opinions are like ****holes, everyone has one. We don't have to agree with others. But, disappointing to see players abandon their fellow teammates because they drop down to the 2nd tier competition.

Replying To SouthMonMan:  "Might be a bit early to start figuring out how the draw for group stages go, but here are my predictions of 4 pots, based on provincial finals and league positions.
Hardest to call is Donegal/Tyrone/Armagh to win ulster (I'll go with Donegal) and maybe Louth/Kildare as Leinster finalists. We'll know a lot more next Sunday evening.

Pot 1 - Provincial winners.
Kerry
Donegal
Galway
Dublin

Pot 2 - Provincial finalists.
Mayo
Tyrone/Armagh
Clare
Louth/Kildare

League top 4
Tyrone/Armagh
Monaghan
Roscommon
Derry

League Bottom 4
Meath
Cavan
Cork
Down

If we ended up in a group with Clare, Louth( or Kildare) as beaten finalists and one of the league bottom 4, we should be aiming for at least 2nd spot in our group."
Well its the best Monaghan could have hoped for in todays draw.
Monaghan
Louth/Meath
Clare (if not a big shock)
Down

I fancy Louth to beat Meath so Louth, Clare and Down.
If there was ever an opperunity for Monaghan to go direct to a quarter final, this is it..! now, don't **** it up!
Only problem is Monaghan do not carry the favourites tag very well but they have to be confident of beating these three teams.

So it's a group with:
Leinster winner
Munster runner up
Down
Ourselves.

Obvs take nothing for granted but that could have been a lot worse (i.e. look across the ditch)

You'd have to be very happy with that draw. Don't think it's being disrespectful to say that, that's objectively the best 1st and 2nd team that every pot 3/4 team could have been drawn against.

Big chance to get to a quarter final now

Jam bags.

Ye got the best possible draw and you have one foot already in Croke Park come quarter finals.

Louth away, Clare at home and Down neutral means the petrol won't be hard hit either.

Topping group gives ya huge advantage too with other teams needing to play 3 weeks on the spin.

Best possible group for Monaghan

Leinster champion the weakest of the 1st seeds

Clare is the weakest of the 2nd seeds

Down the weakest of the 4th seeds

Did Monaghan management go to knock before the draw?

We run on diesel in these parts. But agreed, its a fairly severe dose for Donegal if they win Ulster now. Cavan can always give you trouble, Tyrone are Tyrone and Mayo- sure who even knows anymore?
