Replying To BigSur:  "Clonguish are a decent side albeit with a younger average age I'd say compared to The Downs.
Clonguish have just won their 6th minor championship in a row plus the junior A and surely favourites for U20.
Quite a few county players too from minor U20 and some senior.
A serious test for The Downs in my opinion and they won't be taking anything for granted.
But they have a hungry and talented group that should get the job done.
Loughlin, Lynam, O'Sullivan, and Drumm are all county starters plus Mitchell, Nolan, the Martins are a strong spine.
Throw in former county U20's Moffatt and Mullen, ex county keeper Martin and find of the season Murtagh you can see why they have just done back to back and 3 in 5 years."
Anything other than a win for The Downs would be a shock, Westmeath club football is miles ahead of Longford club football.

I definitely agree with this, Westmeath Club and County football is unbelievably far ahead of Longford. If The Downs fail to win this game it will be classed as an absolute disaster. They've made it clear in interviews they're looking to right the wrongs of last year against Tullamore. I can see The Downs getting to the final but I think Cuala are ahead of everyone in Leinster by a bit of a margin.

Agreed. Clonguish will do well to get within 8 points

Condolences to Athlone GAA and the Fogarty family on the shock passing of Padraig 'Amby'Fogarty.
A warrior on the pitch, he was a part of the last 3 Athlone winning Flanagan Cup teams, he also was a fantastic club man after his football career ended.
Anyone who attended a game in Pairc Ciaran would see Amby, stewarding or behind the Bar, he would be there for most underage training helping out.

A true Gael, and a gentleman. May he RIP

Replying To DelaneyCup2026:  "Has there been many players added to the county panel? There was some very impressive performances in the club championship but I guess it's still a big step up to break through to a winning team. You'd like to think however that the O'Byrne Cup would be ideal to see a lot of those lads given a chance who did impress in club championships."
I see Will Scahill amongst other young players are in on the fundraiser too. Does this mean that any of the younger or new lads to the panel that weren't involved with the Leinster winning team get to go on the holiday too?
