Looks like its going to be a good day-weather wise for the final and for the neutral should be a cracker between 2 very goid sides with contrasting styles.Heres hoping for no controversity and its football we are talking about come final whistle.Maybe The Downs by one or two but its hard to call. The Downs are a town team as they have clearly expanded their territory into the town. Take a drive up the Ardmore road today and you will see all the black and amber flags flying.

Well done to the downs. They had very little wides but Lomans won't sleep after the amount of second half wides, whereas the downs missed very little. Great final. Not sure how Niall Mitchell stayed on the pitch after that sickening hit but not sure it would have made the difference Bluelake (Westmeath) - Posts: 376 - 11/10/2026 16:20:07 2696828 Link 0 |

Great game of football could've went either way , personally think lomans threw it away with them wides in second half. Why was there rules brought in for goal scoring opportunities to be punished as a penalty and black card if the referees aren't goin to use them, Lomans should've had a penalty when Danny Mccartan was through and got pushed other then that was well reffed and congrats to the Downs. Plenty of championships left in that Lomans team BlueAndWhite099 (Westmeath) - Posts: 3 - 11/10/2026 16:59:02 2696836 Link 0 |

Kelvin Reilly made a meal of it, no different to Jack Geoghegan's hit in the first half. I thought the referee was right to give a yellow card for each. St Loman's had plenty of chances, TJ Cox getting blocked down for a near certain score was a momentum shifter. TJ then made a needless foul at the other end. Ronan O'Toole, only back on Irish soil and arguably the best forward on show. The Downs didn't allow St Loman's to get as many 2 point shots away, only 1 2 pointer from play coming at the very end. Mitchell was being fouled all day, his presence alone caused panic in the St Loman's defence. Eoghan Hogan done well on Luke but the legs were beginning to go in the St Loman's defence towards the end. It was an entertaining final from start to finish.

Doesn't take too kindly to criticism of the County Board. [tick] Gets terribly upset whenever refereeing is brought up. [tick] Hmm. iarmhiabu (Westmeath) - Posts: 427 - 11/10/2026 18:47:14 2696863 Link 0 |
