Very disappointing to be told at 1.22 in Pearse Park that match was postponed. Only game nationally not to be played, small crowd in attendance but Longford GAA should explain why decision was made so late and why an alternative venue wasn't on standby. Westmeath surely had a pitch available

Ok only 45 mins drive but very poor form Longford GAA about todays avents.Driving into the car park just before throw in only to be met by a few coming out saying game was off.Surely the weather forecast was known and alternative venue might have been available

Disappointing that another venue hadn't been earmarked. On the basis of the warm up it looks like there's a decent squad of players available this year for Westmeath.

I'm sure both teams would have preferred to play. Obviously the pitch won't be any better tomorrow so that wasn't an option. I wonder was St Loman's pitch an option for tomorrow? Disappointed also to drive and be told it was called off 10 minutes before throw in.
