Crucial win for Rosemount tonight. St Marys are going to struggle to win a game, cant see them picking up any points in remainder games. A_Chairde (Westmeath) - Posts: 309 - 22/08/2025 22:00:56 2633165 Link 1 |

What a result for Tpass tonight did not see that coming. Suddenly group A is wide open apart from the downs who will top the group easily Bluelake (Westmeath) - Posts: 303 - 23/08/2025 21:42:37 2633267 Link 0 |
A great result for Tyrrellspass this evening some great football Nigel Harte looked to receive a nasty injury in the first ten minutes and he had scored 1-1 at that stage Grandcanal (Westmeath) - Posts: 17 - 23/08/2025 22:57:32 2633293 Link 0 |

What sort of injury was it? Massive win for Tyrrellspass against all odds. Nobody has been giving them a chance. Important wins for Moate and Milltown.

Kinnegad/Mullingar game today absolutely pivotal to the group. Tyrellspass winning yesterday means that they have a chance of survival and at least 3 teams now looking over their shoulder. Iarmhisamhi (Westmeath) - Posts: 6 - 24/08/2025 12:33:22 2633325 Link 0 |
Credit to Tang. Difficult season with key players emigrating and seem certs to go down but they're after producing their best half in over a year here in Moate. Five points up at half time. Caulry have been poor so far but bound to improve in second half. A Tang win would mean some scrap with two games left to avoid relegation. I'd agree if they can avoid Shandonagh until the final, I'd give them a huge chance. They've got other strong scoring threats too, like Liam Brennan and Coyne, and with Sam back they're a very physically demanding team all over the pitch. At the moment, it looks to be between Shandonagh and the two Miltowns. I just can't see Tubberclair winning it unless something drastically changes. That said, Kilbeggan were very poor - the goal and a few late points only made the scoreline look somewhat respectable. Fighting-Cocks69 (Westmeath) - Posts: 83 - 24/08/2025 14:37:22 2633332 Link 1 |
Tubberclair have been clear favourites in many posters views on this forum for a while but I don't see why. Their promising minor side from last year will need time to get used to adult football. Being tackled by the Murtaghs, Conor Gibney and the like is a lot different to underage. Shandonagh were missing Darragh Conway, Adam Trainor and Adam Cronin yesterday and looked excellent although Multy minus Ronan Wallace were like a section B team. Whoever beats Shandonagh will win intermediate. Milltownpass have played Maryland, Ballymore and Kilbeggan, three sides who are struggling to avoid junior. Huge set back for shamrocks today. You'd expect a downs win and then it's a huge dogfight for the last three spots Bluelake (Westmeath) - Posts: 303 - 24/08/2025 17:43:45 2633351 Link 0 |
Shamrocks were very poor all over the pitch. Credit to Kinnegad for a very convincing win. You'd expect a lot closer game in the second match. I'll go for a Loman's win.

Shamrocks very poor second half, a lot of older players being selected that no longer have the legs, cleaned out at midfield and kinnegad ran through the defence at ease. dec (None) - Posts: 299 - 24/08/2025 18:53:53 2633360 Link 0 |
They've no choice but to pick them. Have very few players between 21 and 29. Athlone won't need another point to qualify, that draw against Lomans was huge for them.

Have a lot of good young lads coming through, Shane Ormsby should be a starter, Guerin a loss and Matt OShea from last year.

Presume Ormsby has been injured. I'm sure they aren't leaving one of their only two county players on the bench otherwise. Guerin huge loss as you say. Likely to be Downs Lomans Kinnegad and Athlone now. jamsie (Westmeath) - Posts: 480 - 24/08/2025 21:14:43 2633406 Link 0 |
