Replying To Lockjaw: ""what we've always craved" ? Ya. We're that obsessed alright. I've been unable to sleep over the head of it.
Parnell Park would have been an intereresting choice of venue alright, but it's hardly Galatasary's old Ali Sami Yen stadium we're talking about here. It wouldn't matter if ye wanted to play it out on Lambay Island. We'd just have to get on with it. I'm sure a lot will be made about Ger Brennan v Jim McGuinness too...the Dubs will use that as a motivational tactic nothing surer, and right they are.
It's Championship KO from here boys - time for all the pub-talk to stop and the real talking to get done on the pitch. May the best team win."
I think the Parnell talk was Ger causing a bit of mischief and while I agree it would have stood us a better opportunity to win the game I don't feel it was ever going to be a runner.
There is more than enough motivation for Ger to get a tune out of our lads and McGuinness will be turning over every stone this week to get your lads back on track so it will make for fascinating viewing. The bookies have it at -3 which is probably about right. I think we would need almost everything to go right and Donegal would need to be a bit off it like last weekend. I'm not sure we have the ability to go to the well down the stretch with the game there for the taking. I hope I am proven wrong and part of me thinks that a crunch knockout game like this against a top side just might light a fire specifically in the lads who have multiple all irelands. If it doesn't and we bow out then so be it. If we don't get a decent start then I fear we will be picked off and Donegal could run out pretty comfortable winners.

Yeah your take is one I would agree with re: PP.
As for the game itself, I think the big question is just how much do Donegal have in the tank? I was at the Cork game and it was very worrying how flat we were. No disrespect to Cork, but it seemed like a game that we thought we could "manage" to get through. Once Cork reeled us in and edged ahead, we couldn't lift the intensity sufficiently enough to rescue things.
We are at our best when our hard running and support play overwhelms teams. But if there is no juice left, I've yet to see a tactical alternative.
If ever the old Championship cliche "all on the day" applies, it's this one.
Replying To Lockjaw: "That's nonsense. Not one Donegal person I spoke to was "worked up". The only concern was a valid one - lots of good GAA people would have been disappointed because there would obviously not have been enough tickets available."
You are being economical with the truth there. Take a look at the Donegal thread about this topic. A lot of worked up Donegal posters.

This made me laugh tbh. And don't forget the huge amount of neutrals who would have missed out also eh…?! lol

Exactly this....Donegal would need the mother of all collapses to lose to this current Dublin team, based on what we showed against Westmeath and then Louth.

I agree, I think Parnell would have suited Dublin better.
But I am surprised Ger said it at all if Dublin weren't going to follow though with it. From the outside it looks like he wanted to play in Parnell but was over ruled by the CB.
Replying To Fionn: "Well mystic Meg, that is not rocket science now is it.?
Donegal would most likely beat this current Dublin team in Croker, the Neller or in your Killarney / Limerick.
If I was in charge of DCB, I would just move all Dublin games from next season to PP. There is clearly a lot of backing for it within Dublin circles now…! It would avoid this nonsense of the last 2 days. And give so many non Dubs less to moan about.
I still can't get over how worked up Donegal folk got about moving it Out of Croke Park. Mad that. lol."
Tickets was the problem, nothing else. We have 3.5k season tickets holders alone. They wouldn't be accommodated not talk about others.
