Maith thú, GRMA.

Hard to take that seriously. No mention of Michael Langan?

That's true, langán is class and con O'Callaghan had a poor year by his own standards, I'd have langan for O'Callaghan.

If you watch every Galway game there's no way shane walsh is making that list before Sean Kelly.

Pat is judging these players on 20mins of games he happens to have watched.

I'm gonna bet a few good dollars that Con is going to be no. 1 in 2022. The Dubs might not win it, but should make the final. COC will be back like a roaring lion in 2022. Mark my words, KingdomBoy.

Meant to be the top 30 players on current Inter County form and he threw Con O'Callaghan in because of what he recently scored for his club.

Stephen Coen on his list and rates him one of the best minor players of all time shows he's lost it.

With all due respect, who actually gives a toss what Spillane thinks. An outdated pundit with little interest outside the big days in Croker.

Murphy & Langan come to think of it.

He actually said the list was not based on form but his opinion on the best footballers over the last couple of years.

He hasn't picked hardly any players outside of the big 4, with only a couple of exceptions. He has not picked McManus either, who based on the last 2/3 years is probably more deserving than Langan or Murphy.
Nobody can doubt Murphy's class as being one of the best over the last 15 yrs but he is getting on now.
I think O'Hora is a bit of a knee jerk one. He was a sub up to the semi final I think. He was effective but I would not say one of the best players in the country.
Every county, even the smaller ones would have a player or two that should be in with a shout, but with only 30, mist are likely to be the top 4.

Yeah true. Like he picked McBrearty in his top 30, and actually justified it with the winning point Paddy scored against Derry. Great score granted - but McKaigue had him in his pocket for that whole match.

RTE would be far better off with a whole new younger set of pundits. Guys who have recently retired.

Not sure is this humour but Langan is probably the best player we have.

Michael Murphy (and I'm far from a fan of him or Donegal) not in the top 30 footballers in the country? Crazy.
I'd also make a case for John Heslin and Michael Quinlivan.

I hope you're right and Cillian O'Connor is back in full flow in 22.

As for O'Callaghan, he's young and has a lot of advantages playing on a team that rarely leave home so he has every chance of bouncing back next year.

well said , could not agree more, spillane the modst over rated footballer in history, was ahead of his time with fitness and movement but now that all backs would match that they would not give him a kick of it, he was never brave and he would not go near most of the top wing backs now

I often wondered how he annexed the 8 Celtic Crosses and the mere 9 All-Stars myself.
