Seems like a very solid backroom team announced by KOB. I think it's a good shout to allow the selectors to focus on their own clubs for the moment

That's three different football clubs who have players who play hurling for Castletown. From all age groups up to and including senior.

Raharney would have lads from Killucan, The Downs and Kinnegad on their senior team. Turin have lads from Loman's, The Downs, Killucan and Shamrocks. Plunketts have players from Shandonagh, Loman's, Shamrocks, St. Mary's and The Downs.

True fair point it's not just one club that anyway

Turin seem to be the most improved team in the county, i dont think ive ever seen them beat a clonkill team of any description in a championship ever, cullion seem to be the most disimproved team that look on a downward spiral, seem to be lacking numbers too and they shouldnt, when they got to senior a few years ago i thought maybe they were up and coming club.

Gaels Castletown repeat or can Raharney make a final

Well you would be writing off Raharney at your peril. They were flat v the gaels but if they meet again in a semi final it will be a 50/50 game. A team looking for revenge is always dangerous. It is more or less a knock out game for Clonkill this weekend v the gaels. Will be interesting to see if there is a kick in them. Castletown still firm favourites to win the championship.

I agree to an extent and maybe John Shaw is planning for the last rounds and semi finals but there appears to be something more going on.Killucans performances is football are also very poor and when was the last time we have seen Raharney teams so flat in two games running.

Turin regularly beat Clonkill's second team when they last had a competitive team.
They always seem to struggle v Southern Gaels style of hurling so I'm going for the athlone team to win this weekend.

Still think CTG intermediate team will take stopping with the quality of players available

Cullion's demise was inevitable as they've had no competitive underage teams for donkeys and relied on a small core of very good players

Turin qualified for the intermediate semi final after beating Southern Gaels this evening. I don't recall them being in any championship premier final in the last 15 years? They have lots of mobile young players along with the two Augheys and a decent keeper. Guy called PJ has been very impressive at wing forward and Ciaran Kiernan, Darragh Smith, Sean and Conor Leech and Oisin at centre forward are talented. Castletown seem their biggest threat despite losing a few players to senior. The remaining spots are up for grabs with St. Brigid's still in contention despite only one win.

Fair play to Turin, I can't ever remember them at senior grade, maybe someone can tell me otherwise, I can only remember them been a junior club. Did someone on here say they lost 2 junior?? finals in the 1990s??

Yea, you're right, I think 2009 was the last championship final they were in. They're going well, the result of them and CTG game will probably decide who tops the group, but at the moment it's looking like a Turin v CTG final, anything could happen though.
Two close games in the Park, Cullion didn't score enough in the 1st half and still could've won it, Plunketts have room to improve. The second game was similar with The Wood only 5 up at half time, Brownstown wiped out the lead quickly and looked like they were going to win handy, but as Pat O'Brien says the Wood are The Wood and aren't beaten until the final whistle blows.
Delvin had a comprehensive victory over Ringtown, the 3 last round games all with something at stake, winner of Delvin v Plunketts top the group, winner of Ringtown v The Wood gets third place, a draw will do the Wood, and a Cullion win over Brownstown forces a relegation playoff, but a draw will do Brownstown. Some championship.

Neither the Gaels or Raharney looked impressive over the weekend. Raharney struggled over pollard at times. Gaels should have been put away by what has been a very poor clonkill team this year. Hard to see either team touching Castletown geoghan
