Minors had a win in a tight game vs Kildare on Wednesday evening in Naas. They are playing Cork tomorrow in this Leinster league. Good to be competitive with the top teams. Im not sure what happened last week against Waterford. We were all over them in the first half. liam500 (Wicklow) - Posts: 227 - 20/02/2026 18:25:18 2657538 Link 0 |

Was this against a proper Kildare team or one of these "development teams" that the stronger counties tend to field in these lesser competitions ?

That's a very good question. How strong were Kildare ? It's sad that we always seem to be asking these questions. I had heard great things about this particular squad since last year when they were the developmental squad. Then we had last weeks result v Waterford. Possibly Waterford were or are better than thought, but it was a wake up call. If our lads are playing Cork second team today or tomorrow, how full was our team. I suppose it's too early really to expect too much from them.

This was a challenge game. Kildare were missing their Naas CBS players as they were away on a school trip. We started all the players that didn't start on Sunday just gone. That's all I heard.

So, minors win again today. That's a sign of progress. Best of luck to these youngsters as the year progresses Freethinker (Wicklow) - Posts: 2086 - 21/02/2026 18:45:46 2657673 Link 0 |

OK, so minors beat Corks second team. Not sure what to make of that. Like you can only beat what is put in front of you. Anyway, they are in a league final in two weeks time which will be good practice for the championship in four weeks. liam500 (Wicklow) - Posts: 227 - 21/02/2026 20:25:16 2657688 Link 0 |
