Any word on Peter Caseys rehab?

Ritchie is playing out of his skin this year. Last year he was coming back from a serious injury. Very silly comments above. Will be hard to let him out but the only way is do move Barry Nash to 7. As versatile as Barry is he has played very little at 7. If/when Mike Casey is introduced Dan will go to the HB line or the bench.

Hayes will be 100% named as 7 if Ritchie doesn't start.

I think Graeme will be 15 & Kyle @ 7 against cork.

If Cork give us the puck out and withdraw totally then Nash & Byrnes long scoring range could be an option from our own 65???

I think the team will line out with Mulcahy taking the 15 jersey and Hayes at 7 and minimal changes the first day out.

With Mike Casey getting back it does potentially open up more options for the future though. Could you see Hegarty pushed in to the full forward line, Hayes to half forward and Nash\Morrisey to 7. You would have three targets then instead of two which would help solve the issue of doubling up on Gillane.

I would find it hard to see Hayes ever going back to center forward unless Lynch got injured.

I disagree. Dan will stay in situ at FB. I have seen both Kilkenny in the "19 Semi Final and Cork, in a '20 League exploit Mike's lack of height at Full Back. If MC is on, it will be at Corner Back.
As regards Ritchie, I agree there some very silly comments made about him here. Hi

Hannon, Hegarty and TM are so capable of Long Range point taking.

Agree with this.....Great to see Mik back in flying from and maybe brought in at corner back at some point in the season. . Dan the man should stay at full back for his height and commanding presence, skill and reading of the game.

Mike Casey is a full back and a very fine one at that. He was no.1 before his injury. However, Dan has more than earned the 3 jersey for now. Mike will only be used in the corner if SF, BN or RE are otherwise occupied or if he is given a few cameos in the corner. I think the starting team will be the same as '21 All Ireland with GM at 15.

Granted we're still at the league phase but watching cork last night I didn't really see a lot different to what they offered last year. Kilkenny scored 2-12 (2-11from play) and possibly should have had 2 more goals in the opening half. Cork still have plenty of issues particularly in the FB line. I thought it was interesting how kk nullified coleman in this period. Cork moved away in the 2nd half where I felt kk showed their obvious flaws at the highest level. They missed TJs ball winning ability in the 2nd half and I felt were very naive bordering on clumsy in their tackle execution. Horgan tapping fress over all day is what Cork will thrive on. On a positive for cork daragh fitz looks like he's relishing it again. It was a good insight into how cork set up last night and more keenly how cody went about nullifying coleman. I think kk lost their way a bit in the 2nd half but cork also improved a bit. A better team would have had them put away in that first half.

A sincere and heart-felt congratulations to Limerick footballers on winning promotion. Truth be told, my late father played only Gaelic football, but not hurling before he shipped over here. But still, we're all more hurling people.

It's a massive, mighty achievement for Billy Lee and his men. The Dubs are gonna be up against the big boys next season. Let's split Limerick football in two.

Brilliant win over Fermanagh today. Billy Lee deserves great credit for what he has done over the past few years - making steady progress each season. The lads played with great style and pace today. All the backs defended very well, but Cian Sheehan and Ian Corbett were outstanding. Up front, Josh Ryan probably had his best day yet in a Limerick jersey. The only disappointing part of the day was the poor attendance. We pride ourselves on being a "sports mad" county - it's such a shame that more people didn't turn out to witness this historic achievement.

So Cork versus waterford in the league final. Our first two opponents in the no doubt extremely tough munster round robin.
There has been a lot of murmerings about whether or not it is of benefit being in the league final with the munster round robin being just 2 weeks away.
Take cork's position though. Due to Ed Shearan concert, all we keep hearing is they have just one home game but has anyone else seen that they now have a more spread out round robin format as a result of schedule changes. Even with the league final next weekend, they then have a 2 week break to play limerick. After that they have another 2 week break before they play clare followed by yet another 2 week break before they finally have 2 games in a row.
All I can see detrimental to them is if waterford beat them in the league final and the heads go down.

The Limerick match is huge for cork. It's bigger for them than for Limerick imo as they will no longer have home advantage for the rest of the year. Cork will go full out for the league final. The detrimental side of it if that is what's being discussed for me is that you're showing your hand to opposition management. I think cork have already done this v kk in that their FB line is still a major issue and Cody's handling of coleman was very interesting in how he was nullified. The shape for puck outs is also being worked on now by kiely. The second negative is 2 big matches in 7 days albeit league can produce injuries/niggles etc that may not clear up in 14 days as opposed to 6 weeks in previous years between league and championship.

Every county will always look to the positive side of things. Cork are in a league final and deservingly so. They'll want to win it now. Waterford for me are a better outfit but with gleeson suspended I wonder what cahill will decide. I'm sure they'll both go out to win it as its a national title and they've alluded both countys for the most part over the last 20 years albeit Waterford won a league in 15. My guess is Kingston might want it more than cahill

Waterford looked very strong yesterday and are going to be real contenders this year. If both teams go at it then we could be in for a great league final. I would think overall Waterford have the all round game and panel to go all the way. If Limerick were not to make it then we'd all love to see Waterford finally get their all Ireland.

In saying that i don't think Cork or Waterford have shown yet the levels Limerick have reached, the big question for Limerick lies with themselves. Cork full back line looked vulnerable against Waterford and i think Limerick will target this line far more when they meet next than they did in the league. If they can get back or at least close to the form they showed towards the latter stages of last season they will still take some stopping.

I'd agree with all that. Cork and Waterford are definitely back to where they were last year just depends if limerick can get back to it too. I've a feeling getting out of munster will be our biggest challenge this year and if they do croke park is their playground now. It doesn't take much for limerick to fall back to the pack. Injuries the obvious one.

Mads what is reason for changes in fixture list??i havnt heard anything..watching Waterford yesterday was impressive..a lot of players to come back onto that,no Stephen Bennett who has being scoring for fun..I'm looking forward to see how they get on without gleesson..pure stupid what he did..Waterford look like a panel who can compete with limerick physically but also have the hurlers..I don't know what to make of cork,if they had been beaten don't think they'd have been to unhappy..I feel they still have problems at fullback and I don't know who'll play there..I also think if limerick are in front down in cork, pressure will come from home support..I can see a few of cork boys losing it because there are a few with short fuses..why not target them like they have done to some of our players in last few years....also I once again hope limerick will pressure their puck outs because keeper is definitely a fella who can be got at..

My understanding is that it was to facilitate cork to play in semple stadium on a particular week due to the concert because of this there is only one munster hurling game on May 1st and one on May 8th.
The point I was making is that there is a nice spread between games for them but yeah I take the point that a high octane league game could result in serious injuries.
I suppose regardless of how the league final goes the questions concerning our lads won't be answered until that first game in cork.
Main concerns
1) the main concern, the forwards clicking as a unit. With the exception of Gillane and young O'Neil in the league it hasn't happened.
2) undercooked players. Flanagan, WO'D and Hayes have little enough league game time under the belts. Relying on in-house matches now
3) only this game will prove kiely/kinnerk's approach to league is correct. They deserve our complete trust.

The bedrock of our team is the back 6 and Quaid Even though it hasn't worked in general, they have never been found wanting

CTGAA10 he did nothing more than happens a lot in every game, a poke. Common sense who believes he just gave O'Donahoe a poke just because he was going by him ? It was a reminder don't pull on my elbow again. Once the ref went to the umpire he had to be sent off. None of the umpires seen the tip on Gleeson you think? Nothing much either. I want to see the umpires making these calls before the throw in. If they do there will be a lot of players off. It is the same as Limerick. People want to put the good players down. Everything ye do now ye are dirty players. Don't join that brigade against one of ours. It has been scandalous how he has been targeted in this year's league but he is the dirty one ? Does he not deserve some protection.
Retaliating is silly and he is paying the price for it. He does not need to be vilified as well at the same time as I see going on with Limerick players.

Yes I agree that the Cork game in Cork will tell all. I'd have great trust in Kiely and Kinnerk. I think the backs have played fairly well. The forwards have only played in flits and starts. Id do hope Tom Morrissey is back playing well because he is a bell weather gor the whole team.
Will O Neill start in Cork? It's hard to see Mulcahy not starting and thats not great simply because Pat Ryan and David Reidy have failed to nail down a start. Is Adam English worth a championship start and Mulcahy held in reserve.
