In the Leitrim semi final the favourite won well. Odds for the Sligo final replay Shamrock Gaels 4/7 Coolera Strandhill 5/4

At least I made a prediction. So many people come on when the game is over with their wise words

Is there any chance of getting a bit of analysis of the game for people who didn't see the game instead of petty arguements over nothing

Coolera i imagine will be sick they didnt get job done yesterday, they never looked like losing in my opinion.SG be thrilled to have got draw.

Awful venue for a county final also.

Would have lost but for the Strandhill goalkeeper who was rightly awarded man of the match afterwards. SG will be annoyed they only scored 2 goals.

On another note why no extra time yesterday and why is the replay pushed out two weeks.

I suppose you could say Gaels got the larger slice of the good fortune in the game. 5+ mins of injury time with the wind, 2 x 2pts for breaches, retaken penalty, etc.
C/S got 1 min added time with the wind, they did score a goal with last kick of the half, well past that minute.

Gaels missed a lot of goal chances and I think they will kick themselves for a slight lack of composure when chasing the game. They probably regret not keeping the scoreboard ticking over in the middle period of the 2nd half.

I thought C/S would hold out but then they coughed up the breach and allowed Quinn to level it, I doubt SG would've got the ball to him to get a shot away from play.

It is usually the team that equalizes that have the better feeling in a draw, but I'd imagine SG will have some regrets.
Was that their chance? Will they be better for the experience? Only time will tell.

It was a very enjoyable game and I am looking forward to the replay

There's some anti west sentiment on this forum. I haven't been to Keash since it was redeveloped but with the minor senior double header where else could that game have been played? Collooney closed. Tubber has only 2 (substandard) dressing rooms. It was ran well and the weather had very little impact. Of course the west is going to get stuff, the chairman and vice are from there. The county board was run from the south and the town for long enough and sweet * all done. Look at the state of Markievicz. Enniscrone did a fine job.

Enniscrone did a superb job, everything was catered for and no delays getting out. I would imagine the replay not being next week is because they are in the Intermediate final Sunday, Harps while they have great match facilities now wouldn't be able to cater for the crowd Enniscrone had yday. I'd estimate close to 2000 probably. Tubber has the Intermediate Sunday so doubt they will want Senior on Saturday and Inter Sunday so as posters have said where else can ya go?

Eoinog was correct on the whistle owner. There was very little flow permitted in the game and I think Coolera are well within their rights to be annoyed at the outcome. Yes the breach was stupid at the end but the second half was nearly 9 minutes long. 5 minutes were put on the board in a half that had very little stoppages until stoppage time.

As for players, Dillon McDermott looked groggy at times and was slow to get into the action in first half. Quinn played very well and sharp on the frees. Gaels (Lyons) did a decent job on Murphy keeping him to 6 points, 3 from frees. But both sides had some handling errors that turned over possession. Coolera were better on all kickouts and they seemed to cut through Gaels a good few times as their defenders pulled right or left with their man and forgot about the man with the ball. Gaels however had 5/6 good goal chances and only took 1 when you discount the penalty. Harte deserves to be in the county set up and was deservedly man of the match.

I had hinted at a tight game that possibly would need a replay, I'm sorry I'm not a betting man! Gaels will be happy to have another day out but those days usually don't end well for the underdog and I still think they are after this.

Finals should be winner on the day as the Donegal final was yesterday. There was a good few people from both clubs who travelled from abroad for the game and had time booked off work and won't be able to come back again to enjoy the celebrations should their team win. I think all finals should now be winner on the day or at least extra time and reduce the need for replays
