Who is over the senior hurling team next year. I still remember the comments of the parting manager so checking in has it been sorted

Thankfully all our county champions survive to this weekend and best of luck to them all.

From talking to better people in the know and have a look at what bookies reckon looks like a win for Ballymote should be on the cards but that may be the only success of the weekend with both Elphin and Ballina favourites for the intermediate and senior games. Harps won't be helped by not having a good competitive game since the county semi final either.

Not surprising as Roscommon clubs havent had much success at junior level and this is probably a better Ballymote team than the last Ballymote team that reached a Connaught junior final

This weekend will tell a lot about where we are. I expect Coolera will give it a right lash. They were awful at this stage last year but with home advantage and the experience of back to back titles I think they will be competitive. Winning might be beyond them. Harp's in the Hyde against a very fancied Elphin side will be a huge test for a young team. Ross will have his homework done. Harp's won't score much but they won't concede a big score either. I just think it might be a step too far for Harps. Ballymote appear to be favourites against a team I know nothing about. Home advantage will be huge and hopefully that could be enough for a home win. Wishing all three teams the best of luck and if we get 2 victories out of 3 it will be a great weekend

Another big win for Ballymote, completely dominated the game and the scores finally started coming in the second half.

Congrats to Ballymote on their win. I didn't see it as it was on the same time as the game in the Hyde. Harp's just came up short. Both teams were ultra defensive so it wasn't a great spectacle. Harp's found it very hard to get a scorable free, while Elphin got two that I thought were soft. The shoulder on Cregg by Clarke and another one on the 21 metre line when the ref gave a free in when both teams were scrambling for the ball on the ground. They also nailed 2 forty five metre kicks. That's what was the difference. Henry was the surprise inclusion and was very good. Definitely not as sharp as normal from the long lay off but caused a lot of problems for Elphin. Harp's were also lucky to finish with 15 players on the pitch.

Coolera Strandhill won on penalties to reach a first ever Connacht senior final and will be at home for that final.

Will the performances of Sligo teams in senior, intermediate, junior there is no doubt Sligo club football is at its strongest for a number of years

Congrats to Coolera and Balymote on their great wins. Harps fought well too.

Coolera were the better team and how they worked the last 2 frees on the left flank was very impressive under severe pressure and not much time left. It was a nerve wracking finish. It was ballsy and risky of murf to work the second one in further but he's just brilliant isn't he. Fair play to all the penalty takers who were all Ice cool and Keelan Harte in goals with a great save. He is a very good keeper and hopefully is involved with Sligo this year.

Based on this weekend across all levels our club football is back to Connacht standards. I felt the standard was good across our championship this year but you never know. All Sligo clubs should take a lot of confidence from this weekend. Club football has taken a lot of criticism for a long time but brighter days ahead for sure with hopefully 2 Connacht titles.

In the other semi final Mohill were only 6-3 down with 40 mins gone so it was tight for a long time but when they got a man sent off they faded badly.

Congrats to Easkey hurlers as well.

All the signs of Sligo GAA continue to head in one direction.

Good weekend for Sligo teams as Ballymote and Coolera won. Harp's were in it until the last few minutes..

Well fair play to Coolera especially as they were fairly ranked as outsiders including with myself as I thought Ballina might be able to break their defensive play. Penalty shoot outs are lotteries but getting all 5 scored is fairly impressive at club level after 80plus minutes of football.

Congrats to Ballymote they won fairly comprehensively which was expected by all accounts and will have a tougher day out against Galway opposition you would think?

Harps stuck it well but again the expectation would have not been on them to win the game and I'd say they might be happy enough with their lot for the year.

I was at the elphin vs harps game and was very impressed with a Henry lad in full forward line. Very good ball winner and good on the ball but probably has a bit of work to do on other parts of his game. What age is he. Any relation to Paddy Henry

Paddy Henry from a different club Tourlestrane. He has been injured for the later half of the Intermediate championship so probably only getting back in the swing of things but he is a good baller for sure.

Congratulations to Ballymote and Coolera. Going by reports Harps were unlucky not to get the win.
It is great too see two Sligo clubs in Connacht Finals . Next step would be to get the win.
Ballymote are a decent team and they should be very competitive in the final, pity it is away.
Was in the Park yesterday and was very impressed with the work ethic of Coolera, maybe Ballina were complacent ? Coolera won't care , first club Connacht final - Well done.
Home advantage as well, lets all get out to support them in two weeks.
