It's hard to put into words what this means. Having followed Louth since the 80s, through all the ups and downs, days like last Sunday and the two games before that feel especially meaningful. There's a deep sense of pride seeing this group reach an All-Ireland semi-final for the first time since 1957, not just for what they've achieved, but for how they've gone about it. And with the new stadium on the horizon , and the growth and competitiveness at underage level , it feels like the county is building something lasting, both on and off the pitch. This didn't happen overnight. It's the result of years of belief, hard work, and the kind of long-term vision from very hard working folks that helped to set in motion. They saw what Louth football could become and laid foundations that are now bearing fruit. For all supporters who've stayed with them through the lean years, and new supporters, there's a quiet joy in this moment. Credit to the management team who have built a deep panel over the last few campaigns. Missing Dermot Campbell, Eoghan Callaghan, Peter Lynch and Dan Corcoran also in the backs. I myself have being following Louth 30+ years and by god I can only remember seeing so many dark days I just feel like it's all one big dream, I mean to go from one of the worse teams in the country to one of the best in no time really is incredible and of course it does not happen overnight, wee can safely say that wee are a role model to other low to mid tier counties starved of progress like we were. As for the new rules well they are working a treat and has got everyone on the edge of the seats again particularly with those 2 pointers. I think a lot of Louth supporters of our generation feel exactly the same. When you've lived through the disappointments, near misses and years when progress seemed a long way off, moments like these carry a different weight. They mean more because we've seen just how hard they've been earned. What makes it even more special is that it feels sustainable. The senior team's success, the work being done at underage level, and the new stadium all point to a county moving in the right direction for the long term. As you say, it's a great example for other counties that have spent years trying to bridge that gap. The new rules have certainly added another layer of excitement too. Every game feels alive right until the final whistle, and those two-pointers can turn a match on its head in an instant. And you're not alone about Croke Park. I think there'll be plenty of us feeling emotional when the team runs out. Whatever happens, it's already been a season we'll be talking about for years. Replying To Cumann1: "Did Leitrim ever get out of their box?" Not sure what exactly you mean but Leitrim did win Connacht in 1994 beating Roscommon, Galway after a replay and Mayo in the final. They played Dublin in the semi-final and as a Galway person I was delighted to support them - as I have every Connacht team - and was on the old Canal end terrace as the Leitrim team took the field . Near me was a Leitrim man about 50 with his teenage son and I'll never forget the emotion with which he greeted the team … he could hardly talk and all he could say to the young fellow was 'look at them… look at them… as tears streamed down his face. It's probably the same as Laois in 2003-2007 they never got to a semi final though, probably underachieved. Only 1 Leinster they should have won 2004 2005 or 2007 as well or at least 2 more They died away quick enough after that around 2008.
