We have to be realistic of the level we are at. In 2020 we lost all seven league games in division 3. Four years later we are in back to back leinster finals and will be playing division 2 football for a 3rd successive year. It's a hard cry from that to be expecting to be competitive with Dublin.

Great achievement to do back to backs. Congratulations to Ger and his team. Secures Sam Maguire status which will definitely stand to the group over the summer.
To win it would be a special feat, probably the biggest modern upset but we're there now and need to give it a lash. Hard to know how Ger will approach his native county. Its a tall order but when you're there there's always a chance.

First back to back finals since 1958? Great progress. Know Ger and hope rest of year goes well. Difficult final but unlike others Louth have taken Leinster setbacks in stride last few years.

Fantastic display from Louth yesterday. The 6 point streak in the middle of the first half really set them up. Grimes and McKeever were excellent through-out
Great that they have reached another Leinster Final, but I for one will not be going to it or bringing the kids. This is in no way a reflection on Louth, and the efforts the players and management are putting in. But there really is no point in spending the money (which will unevenly be distributed back in favour of Dublin anyway). Yesterday's attendance figures once-again highlight how dead the Leinster Championship is in its current format.
Far better off in spending my money on the 3 games in the group stage.

Completely agree. I've been to every Louth game this year but I'm questioning why i should bother with Sunday weeks farce. Dublin are going to win pulling up and to be charged €40 for a dead Leinster championship game, seems crazy.

Anyone know were we will play our home game in the Group Stage?

Are we even allowed play it in Ardee? Is Navan available?

Lads don't be going doing anything crazy like beating Dublin

Delighted we are in a Leinster final...It certainly means an awful lot to me. Stayed to watch the second game after our very comfortable display against Kildare. That was a good Croke Park performance by our lads even if we didn't get the goals.

Dublin are in some shape all over the field, fit, fast and good ballers. If we park the bus, play a kick passing game like we are doing more of, move them around and go for goals, from the start we can make a game of it. The Dubs will be bet sometime even if they hold all the Aces. We really do have a good confident Louth team.

Your home game is against Meath,so hardly Navan......well unless you cause the shock of the last 3 centuries, which would be brilliant but unlikely. Good luck anyway.

Surely this fixture can draw a big crowd!

Same for me. Tickets to the final are too expensive. I'd rather stay at home and use the 200 quid it would cost me for the family day to croker for something more palatable than watching the Dubs sharpen their game in preparation for the all Ireland series.

Last night Dublin and Louth got through to the Leinster MFC semi-finals.

Great to see that Louth remain on course for Leinster Final appearances at Senior, U20 and Minor level.
When is the last time that happened.?

The semi-final draw is Kildare v Dublin and Longford v Louth.

The wee county are clearly doing something right up there. Well done.

Hard luck Louth. You played very well and have improved immensely. There is plenty to work with there.
Good luck for the remainder and I think not too many will be looking to play you.

Brilliant day and never stopped trying until the very end.

I wonder does setanta still think this is a mediocre championship.

Outstanding performance from Louth yesterday, they really couldn't have done any more. Sets them up very well for the group.
Despite the performance, I still think the Leinster Championship is dead… 19 wins in 20 years for the Dubs, and the smallest attendance in over 30 years (…possibly ever for a Dublin contested final?), speak for themselves.

Was in Croker yesterday and Louth brought the blanket defence to a whole new level. Not contesting the oppositions kickouts at all was a bit of a shock. Was this brought in just for the Dublin game or have Louth been doing this for a while. While it worked on the scoreboard it was never going to win you the game. It looked like a tactic to just stifle Dublin. On the few occasions you attacked Dublin you got some amazing scores.
