The real stuff starts from the next game, we have beaten two of the weaker side in the Div, so not sure what that says but it certainly will create a bit of a feel good factor in the camp. Laois are going very well and at home will have this pencilled in as a win.

Waterford were poor but we got the result & should have won by more. 2 wins from 2 is all we can ask for but let's be realistic we have played the 2 weakest teams in the division in my opinion as Tipp are so depleted & Waterford are at rock bottom. That said winning is a great habit & builds confidence. The lads have worked very hard for the 2 wins & we have massive pace all over the team. Two weeks time we will see where we are at. Iv been watching us take on Laois for years & we always come out on the wrong side. Mcnulty has them well organised again & it will be a big ask to beat them at home. They were in chaos under Sheehan & really think last year we should have beaten them. Still nothing to lose & we have to beat them sometime

Super win for the hurlers down in kerry. Always seem to struggle down there so great start to the league and caps off a good weekend with the footballers winning last night.

Great win.
Set's them up nicely now.
IF ONLY our county board would back the hurling with the same resources as the football, especially underage.
These are Great times to enjoy but needs to be followed through to keep us up there and that takes a lot of work, money and interest.

Lads we beat tipp in thurles. Tipp went to Longford today. Won by 2 . Longford had beaten dubs previous week albeit only 5 of all Ireland team on view in o Byrne cup final. This Carlow team team has great pace. Go to portlaoise and take it on. Nothing to fear.

Well said Brendan. I don't know if we'll beat Laois or not but we have absolutely nothing to fear. We have some very good pacey players and a bit of momentum behind us.

Bring it on.

Agreed about our pace but I'd be concerned about our set up without the ball. We seem to let teams up the field too easily, we should press their kicks out more. Another area is our tackling, we foul too much. However fingers crossed we'll get it right.

New to the group lads, have been following the forum for a while and find the topics which come up very interesting. I found that people have made very good points r.e. funding, county boards, fixtures, playing numbers etc. I think it's important to note that there is no obvious solution to a lot of the aforementioned issues and although one person may not agree with the other both may still have relevant valid points.

Fair play to the hurlers and footballers so far both have started well and should be looking to kick on. The footballers in particular have a very good chance now with Longford and London also looking quite weak at the moment.

Great win for the footballers. Can only beat what is put in front of you. 2 from 2, ideal start.

Hulton was MOTM the weekend. 4 points from wing back. Super performance.

The hurlers had a fine win away from home in Tralee, certainly they are a side on an upward trajectory in recent years and are one we have had difficulty in overcoming on a few occasions. Good to see the Walsh cup experience for us didn't carry through, expect it may be between us and Laois in the small ball code. Looked to be a strong enough side that lined out.

Football leagues start back next week in the county, promotion and relagation returns too, that should bring some badly needed prestige back to our league competitions

Last time we beat Laois in the Championship was 1988 in DCP. Joe Hayden scored a late goal to win it. We played the Dubs after on Bank Holiday Monday & went down after a decent performance. I can't remember beating them in the league since them either. Fairly one sided rivalry but we have to win at some stage

Your right we beat them in O Byrne cup semi final in portarlington but it was 2002. We beat Wicklow in the final. 1 win since 1988 in all competitions is not good. Fingers crossed

Yes portarlington in 02 was the last win. Think we drew with them at minor maybe 5 or 6 years ago in setu. Outside that I can't think of any other positive result. There are a few should have and could haves in there too. Even poor laois teams seem to be able to beat us. Last year was as poor as laois have ever been and still beat us in dcp. Laois always up it for us and we often under perform

Hurlers got the Job done today, second half a bit disjointed but they had more than enough done in the first half.
Building nicely and will improve with 3 or 4 starter's still to come back.
