Bonner must be thinking this weekend that we should either be playing Clare tomorrow or Galway on Sunday, Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2747 - 24/06/2022 18:45:09 2427324 Link 1 |

Take a break lad I have you all over the place. That's the effect I have on people. Go away and enjoy the club championship and see your club regain there title.. one thing I do know lad is I know my football from years of experience. I'm as straight as they come maybe a wee bit too much. But it is what it is. My grammar is not the best but I still get my point across.. too bad now I have to read my posts before I post to correct my mistakes.

It's a shame there wasn't an interview done after the Armagh game. The supporters at least deserve to hear from dgl management after that defeat.

Looking at Derry v Clare shows that we did not do too bad and tactically it was probably the right way to go about it by using the blanket. Ronan1989 (Donegal) - Posts: 81 - 25/06/2022 16:57:26 2427419 Link 2 |
I'd no problem with the tactics for most of the day, it was how we handled the game when we were 2 points up that was severely disappointing. They'll have a tougher test in the semi-final but I expect them to beat Galway or Armagh to be quite honest. I just don't rate Armagh all that highly and I think Galway will win that game, setting up a rematch from the league and I don't think Galway will get the goals they got in the league. The thing with Derry is their keeper. I think he has huge mistakes in him and it will cost them eventually. Clare's 2nd goal today was a lovely finish but shocking goalkeeping. What supporters are you on about. The ones at home watching on the tv. They deserve nothing full stop.

Today proves Donegals tactics in the Ulster final were right. . It was a game of small margins which unfortunately we ended up on the wrong side off. Anybody thinks any different probably wudnt be well up on there football.. rorysboys (Donegal) - Posts: 2401 - 25/06/2022 17:36:47 2427433 Link 0 |
Their defensive tactics were largely right against Derry but their lack of intent or variety in attack was the killer. A tactical attacking failure for me. I do agree it was fine margins but I'm not sure it was unfortunate. We were 2 points up and didn't go for the jugular when we clearly had the momentum. We are certainly the only team to date in this year's championship though who managed to keep Derry honest and I think it will take a Kerry or Dublin to beat Derry. Not sure Armagh or Galway can. The difference is while Dublin or Kerry will need to mimic what we did defensively, they will drive into spaces much harder in attack and have much more variety in how they attack. Jason McGee's second half point where he truly drove at Derry is a case in point and was all too rare.

Chatting about ppl that that followed team all year. The people that spent big money travelling to games all year and the genuine dgl ppl who couldn't make the matches for whatever reasons. Deep down Even you would have liked to hear your hero after the game roryboy.

I go to games to watch football. Not really interested in what the manager says after a game. If that floats your boat that's your choice.

If we had won Bonner would have been front and centre to be interviewed, instead he goes into hiding, not a good look tbh. Derry done well today and are favs in my book to make the final, a Derry v Kerry final would be good. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2747 - 25/06/2022 19:43:07 2427474 Link 2 |
