The last time the Dublin men's senior football team played a championship match at Parnell Park was in 2004.
And now for a do or die clash, they want to have a game for around 8.5k.

It will make it some game in fairness but tickets will be like golddust.

Donegal played very well in the 1st half against Cork, had a healthy lead at half time, but they seemed to take the foot off the pedal in the 2nd half and our bench had little or no impact, while the Cork bench had a very effective impact.

No 2 point attempts until the last few minutes was strange, bit like last years All Ireland final. Very strange finish to this game.

Well said, you're right and the Dubs are right to gain any advantage they can, it would be a bad sign of a team if they didn't

Wouldn't blame them for requesting Parnell Park to be honest, Donegal will at least match their support in Croke Park, makes sense to do what Louth did and try to take whatever advantage away from Donegal they can.

It was a very flat performance from Donegal against Cork, especially in the second half. Cork were excellent, slowed the game down, kept possession for long periods and took their 2 pointers. I thought the atmosphere was flat as well, considering the game was a sell out. We couldn't win any of the kickouts in the second half and Cork had all the possession.

Oisin Gallen and Ryan McHugh were excellent in the first half but was hard to pick anyone out in the second half that played well. Gallen is our only forward who can beat his man and kick a score when the game is slowed down. You can't expect to win a game with so many of the players below par. Our bench looks very light. We are really missing Paddy McBrearty from the bench and Ciaran Thompson not being available is another blow. We had a much stronger panel last year, losing Niall O'Donnell and Aaron Doherty hasn't helped. Not sure about the decision to pick Patton ahead of Mulreaney.

Dublin away is going to be tricky but probably a good game to get us refocused. We don't become a bad team overnight and think we will have much more energy this weekend.

I don't understand why people say Donegal played well first half. We had a 5 point lead at half time, only because we got a lucky goal and a Cork free taker missed a free that an u12 would have scored.

Who has the final say in these decisions I wonder? The GAA would obviously want it in Croker because of ticket sales you'd imagine.

Listening to Brendan Devanney on highland, he was describing Donegal were too good for Cork in first half and seemed to be in 3rd gear. A few wides meant we should have been a lot further ahead.

Speaking to people at the game, I was told atmosphere was very flat throughout.

Donegal fans were just sitting back in expectation and players were going through motions.

It's like a battle broke out before we knew it and suddenly we could not up the intensity.

We were like a horse cruising on the bridle with Cork struggling to stay with us and then and suddenly Cork kicked for home and our jockey found he had no horse underneath him unable to battle.

It's another sign that Dublin are in decline.

Dublin in their pomp would never have entertained Parnell Park.

This is something that has been slightly overlooked and was mentioned by Chris Og during his post match interview. When you striped it back, there really wasn't that much in it at half time.

Totally agree with Dublin not wanting to play in Croke park but can Donegal not dispute this?
Dublin and the GAA were very focused on Croke Park holding the Dublin games when the Dubs were flying and now that they are struggling to get to those heights they want to move. It just shows favoritism towards the Dubs which I hope Jim plays on.

Was it not 2005 - late Mossy quinn free won it for them?

We played well in the first half but our forewards were very wastefull. We deserved to be 8 to 10 points up at half time.

We did not get a lucky goal we turned them over and scored. Galway did the same yesterday for the Shane Walsh goal, we also missed a 1 on 1 with the keeper, Michael could have taken the ball in and rounded the keeper instead of trying to palm it in. We then missed a straight forward 2 pointer from the edge of the arc (Shane O'Donnell), that would have put it out to a 12 point lead. However Cork were the better team coming down the stretch and we allowed that. Hence we play again next weekend.

I'm almost certain Donegal lost because of the Highland Radio commentary. I know that makes no sense, but it sure felt like it when I was listening.
Happy birthday to wee Theresa McGrath in Kilmacrenan who turns 87 years young today. Lots of love from your Auntie Mary. Oh, and Cork have scored another two-pointer by the way.

In Dublin get to bring Donegal to Parnell Park it will be, ironically, a reward for Ger Brennan getting a suspension that he deserved, invalidly compared to Jim McGuinness not getting a suspension that he didn't deserve.
Only in the GAA...

If your scraping around for an advantage like that, maybe it says alot about where Dublin currently are? They should be chest out, bring it on, but they're scuttling off to some ground, nobody outside Dublin even been to, have some backbone and get the game in front of the fans, both sets.

Murphy should have scored a goal right away after COD though…

It's just ironic that they always preached Croke Park was their home ground and now when it suits it's Parnell Park.

Dublin are going to be well up for this one and Parnell Park will for sure give them an extra boost with a packed Dubs roaring them on.

They have been rotten this year for the most part but they did bite back against Rossies away in the league and were very good up front v Westmeath in the first half.

One Caveat for them. If they take us to Parnell Park and we hockey them, that could be the end of them and their support for a good while.
