The manager still has the final say, but ultimately someone stronger with slightly different ideas would help Jim and the team in the long run. It's worked for Kerry"
Yeah we need a strong voice who is focused on analyzing our weaknesses, something Kerry were able to exploit very efficiently in the opening 15 mins of the All Ireland final.
Jim is very good at analyzing the opposition and finding weakness, but tends to maybe overlook where the opposition might attack or hurt us. So having someone to help with that side of things might be good.
Replying To CCFabu: "I must admit I was feeling a bit bad for our neighbours as the 2nd half and ET unfolded, but fair play to Ethan Harkin with those 2 pointers he really brought GD back in with a shot of drawing the game when it looked out of sight. I know he'll be disappointed with the strike for that final play but he had done all he could and should hold his head high
a tough one for GD to take especially with them looking to add to their list of county titles but you have to take your hat off to NC, what a set up they have and what a mentality, never ever beaten and considering the reputation they always had for being defensive, to show that fight and comeback ability with the new rules is all the more impressive. Finbarr Roarty, what a player we have on our hands in Donegal hopefully for many many years to come
best of luck to them now in Ulster I hope they get a good rest and are focussed for a good rattle at it
I thought the championship was very competitive and ran well this year, maybe I would have liked a replay instead of ET because the time is there, but overall I wouldn't be messing about with it too much."
Looked back at the county final game there, and when you analyse it, Gweedore still with 2/3 minutes left had numerous chances to go 3/4 ahead! Even though they weren't in the game the second half! They had a few stand out performers and the sideline in my opinion done a few crazy subs at times. Looking at it finbar was getting great joy in the centre from his county team mate. Why didn't he take it upon himself and get out of the way and take him for a jog into a corner and let the others take the game?
Gweedore will feel sick when they look back at it because I feel for them watching it back for them! Glenties will give Ulster a good rattle now and hopefully they can make the county proud!

Your correct Gweedore has chances near the end but Naomh Conaill had a lot of great chances as well to level the match with Gweedore much earlier. As far as marking Finbar was concerned I don't think Dara could keep up with Finbar after half time in normal time. He was everywhere joining in with attacks and the first line of defence. I've never seen a player with such stamina. He was still full of running at the end of extra time.
The fact is naomh conail upped there intensity in the second half and gweedore could not live with it. Whether that was a fitness problem or the fact that naomh conail seem to be a second half team and got in gweedores head, probably a bit of both. if naomh conail manage to keep Gallagher and Malone for another few seasons and hopefully Kieran Thompson returns to good health, and roarty and Campbell continue there progress. Along with keeping E O'Donnell and others, we will be fighting for more championships in the next few years. Not bad for a side that was finished 5 seasons ago by pundits. As regards Ulster, it's a tough draw away to the Monaghan champions, and it's hard to know what way it will go. We went away to the Antrim champions a few years ago, had the game win twice and still managed to lose in on penalties. With a lot of big names out, it's wide open for any side to win Ulster. But to me we are in bonus territory now, and hopefully we get a few more wkends of football to see up to Christmas. But we definitely need to play 60 minutes of football up in Monaghan because you won't get away with it in Ulster.
