Why? County leagues were being played. Some lads have no clue of Monaghan or Ulster club football.

Yeah, hard to go against St Eunans for the senior championship. Although Naomh Conaill will also fancy their chances if Thompson is fit.

What's the predictions?
Senior: Hard to look past St Eunans
Intermediate: N Mhuire or Buncrana
Junior: Carndonagh"
Senior: Eunans if Patton is fit, Glenties if he's not
Intermediate: Milford
Junior: Carn at a canter, will tip them for Ulster too.

Can't get relegated out of the league so it's essentially glorified challenge games. Evenings are getting darker before our championship starts.

Yes lads, putting together a wee predictions competition for the Donegal championships (S, I & J)

It will follow the same format as I've done in the past.

1 point for predicting the winner of the fixture
3 points if you correctly call a draw
5 points if you call the winner with the exact winning margin

If you're interested in taking part let me know and I'll add your name to the tracker.

Admins - ok for me to set up a separate thread per weekend? I don't want to put it in this general Donegal thread to clutter it up, in case it just annoys other people not taking part in the competition.

Thanks.

Yes please add me to that, really enjoyed it last year, fair play for setting it up again!

Senior: Glenties, think with Eoin McGettigan back he will be a big help to them to get over the line against St Eunans. Think those 2 are a bit ahead of the rest.

Intermediate: Tentatively will say Buncrana, nearly men at it for a while now but think they will nick it over Naomh Muire or Malin

Junior: Carn will be winners by a country mile, next best being Gaels or Naomh Brid. I would normally give Convoy a bit of backing but they have lost a lot to emmigration/players not committing to current management set up.

In the senior, it's hard to look beyond Eunans, but if Patton is out it will obviously weaken them somewhat. Naomh Conaill will be a tough nut for any team to crack as usual. Dungloe will be strong again and determined to follow up on last year. After that, I'll be interested to see if the likes of Termon and Four Masters can establish themselves as serious contenders. I don't think there's a lot between the likes of Gaoth Dobhair, Kilcar & St. Michaels. Gun to head - I'll go with Eunans.

Intermediate - as in every year, a very competitive championship. Hard to call a winner until we've seen a round or two played, but I'd say Milford, Buncrana, Naomh Mhuire and Malin would all be fancying their chances.

In the junior, Carndonagh must be huge favourites. They didn't perform in last year's final at all and will be keen to put that right. Having a potential All-Star operating at this level is also hugely advantageous to their chances!!

After Sundays Division 4 final I took a browse through some of the first 12s and second 15s in each club, and I've found a few players that I'm not sure how the CCC missed as it's fairly public knowledge they're no longer there. Some even playing inter-county in their newly adopted homes!
How are clubs getting away with some of these?

N Adhamhnain
Peter McEniff - Transferred away 23/5/2024

Gaoth Dobhair
Cian Mulligan - Transferred away 7/2/2024
Kieran Gillespie - Transferred away 1/4/2025

Termon
Nathan McElwaine - Transferred away 10/11/2023
Jamie Grant - Transferred away 24/1/2025

Killybegs
Eoin McGing - Transferred away 17/2/2025
Evan Broderick - Transferred away 28/1/2025

Where is that information available?

I see Glenties had 43 players named on Sunday. Not bad for a 3rd team!

Good man Lockjaw. Add me in. Missed this last year. Big push to stop you doing the 3 in a row this year!

Was it really a third team is the question!
Information available in the county book on the Donegal GAA website, and transfers are available on the live transfer list on the gaa website.

No bother lad! Ha I think I fluked a few results in previous years in fairness.

I'll be putting up two seperate threads on the forum to cover the first two weekends of Championship.

"Donegal Championship Predictions - W1" & "Donegal Championship Predicitions - W2"

I'm out of the country for 2 weeks from Sunday, so I'll tot up the first two weekend scores once I'm back and we'll continue on from there.

Hopefully we'll get a few more contestants.
The prize for this year's winner is a trip to Kashmir.

You'd have to wonder how those were approved by the CCC?
In my own experience with teams if you had a player transfer away, you obviously couldn't include them.
Is there any repercussions? For the CCC or clubs?

Can you post a link to where you can see the named players per club?

GD one of the worst offenders when it comes to the named 12.
